Games you think would make good movies...
 

I think Zelda and Metroid would make good movies. Maybe Halo, if they added some story from the prequel book. And the Legacy of Kain would make a good series of movies, starting with Kain's story and continuing with Raziel's. And call me crazy, but I think Kinetica would make a cool movie too!

Rock n' Roll Racing 2. The book has a good story in it. I would like to see it expanded in a movie form.

Zelda.... yes aslong as the go for the darkness of it all, and remember to have that mystical HUGE hurley full of odd creaturs...

Deus Ex would make a good movie. Actualy, in my latest PC Gamer magazine, they had rumors of that Deus Ex will be made a movie... it involved Eminem, but I hope that is not true :fuzemb:

The Syphon Filter trilogy on PS1 would make several great action Movies.
Also Lord of the Rings would make a good Movie. ;)

Curse you, I was going to say Lord Of the Rings. But how could you forget *gasp* The Sims! We all need some good documentaries covering everything from murdering family members, sex, and making peoples lives miserable. The perfect movie that covers everything cool...

But yea, Syphon FIlter would be cool. And Super Maro Brothers 2! THey managed to jack the first movie up out of a normal game, imagine what Hollywood can do with a game whacked to begin with. Medal of Honor already has close enough stuff... Um... Ugh, my minds just blank right now. Maybe after I get some sleep, I'll come up with more.

halo would be an ecellent movie. Metroid would too. I think metal gear solid would make a good series as well.

Hmmm... Metal Gear Solid, of course. That would be a great movie.

Either that, or something from the Myst series. All of those games are practically movies anyway. Ooooh... or maybe Grand Theft Auto.

id say Halo, Zelda, and metalgear solid movies would be the best because hey all have great story lines.

Tetris, Super Breakout, Baby Universe, Lemmings, Fluid and Pocket Tanks would make really phat films, in my opinion.

And if any of those actually have been turned into movies, I'm going to sulk.

Actually, I was thinking how Worms might make a good film. Don't ask me to do it, because I'll be too busy watching The Sims Movie, lol. Oh dear.

How about a Sim City or Theme Hospital motion picture?

How about Splinter Cell I know it was a book in the first place, so why can't it make good film material?

Neverwinter nights would be a great movie, it has such good story line in the game and graphics.

Oh, so you based it on assumption... tut, tut. Actually, the game is only based in the Tom Clancy universe (It was never a book). The truth is, Tom's only part in Splinter Cell's story was to look it over and give it the thumbs up if it was respectful of his good name. Did you really not know?

Are you kidding me? u obviously havent read the Fall of Reach or any research on Halo, Halo has a great story line. Certainly not the best but if you really what Halos about you will realize hwo great the story is

First off, the game doesn't explain everything from the novel. You should realize that. Jeebers...

Indeed sarcasm, if everyone failed to reckonize what I was getting at was how MGS2 has such long movies and you might as well rent your controller out for an hour or two. Not saying this as a bad thing.

Mojoman... very good. Indeed I was making an assumption, as I have not gotten into any of the Tom Clancy books or games. I have played the Splinter Cell demo, but it wasn't really my thing. Give me MGS as a spy game anyday.

from that point of veiw fax, it does sound a bit crap story line, but it has got some awards for the storyline.

and i ya i will boast about Halo when in fact if idiots actually went deeper into the game then the levels you just play, maybe its because you played Halo with the sound off or you just didnt listen but if you did you would realize their is just as good story line in their then any other good game. If you think that the game is all about we crash. we land on planet. we get off planet. you must have been playin some edited version or something. Anyone can say somting like that for games with great storylines like MetalGearSolid 2, We get on ship. we get off ship. we blow up metalgear.we survive.

He stated the book and theories seperately. That means hes talking aobut other peoples theories of stuff. Not Bungie's.

And it might as well be fact, most shoot em' ups have bad storylines. The GAME Halo gives nothing of a storyline. I'm sorry. The game itself cannot be turned into a full book. Compared with other shoot em' ups, its storyline is great. But overall, no its not.

But you finish it, and then all it's good for is multiplayer. And you can't tell me that multiplayer is worth playing all the time.

Actually hate to break it to you guys he is right. Bungie personally oversaw almost every detail put into the fall of reach. Eric Nylund when writing the novel, had to get most of his facts from the "Halo Bible" as Bungie also states. Bungie basically gave him all of the plot, and he had to fill in only a few gaps, and write the story in his style, and interpretation of the facts. This Halo Bible contains all the information that creators of novels based on halo, etc must follow guidelines. It wasnt all bungie that made this. So that part is true for you guys. But he is also right like I said because they were a huge part in both the novels, Fall of Reach and the one coming out in April. It wasnt just written and they said you can have the rights etc. The personally oversaw it. need I keep repeating myself eh? ;)

The same will be done with the next Halo book "The Flood" which is completely based on the game.

Halo is not just a mindless shooter, if you look at the true depth in it you will see that. But thats right, most people dont want to look deeper into things than you have to plus the added fact their are people here who only have PS2. I truly feel sorry for those who cant appreciate it. You dont know what your missing out on. Oh well no need to argue about it because I know that Halo is one of the best games ever created, and I do have other games too, that I enjoy like Halo. But Halo 2 will once again prove most of you wrong with what a great game it is and the overall great story, and conflict.

I am finished if you feel the need to argue with me and try to discredit me go right ahead. But I will tell you I really dont give a rats ass about if you think it sucks etc. I have my opinion you can have yours, I will leave it at that.

Good point you have there Al. A lot of people don't look in depth into things like that and that is a shame. After all its the stories of these games which counts ya know? I feel that is one of the most important things about certain games like Halo and others. Before you can make a great game you need to be able to write. And its the writeing that which makes the rest flow. For me I think of games as interactive stories. Its the story that counts and gives these games life. Not the gameplay. That is why many developers make these games like movies. Infact its one step below from actually makeing a motion picture. The process is very similar.

But your point is well put.

Another game that I think would make a great movie would have to be the Cantra series. Once again there is a good story surrounding that game aswell.

ya contra would be really cool, i think there have been some movies released as games already. like metalGear 2 ;)
