A new perspective on Sligs
 

I was reading in some early reviews of MO and it said that you were going to see Sligs actually mourning the deaths of other sligs. Thats something we have never seen before. It puts on a whole new perspective in the emotion part of the sligs. Could they be actually a sad race who are forced into what they do but in reality could they actually be a nurturing race forgotten? I balieve there is more to the sligs than meets the eye. And we are going to see it fairly soon. They have to be a misunderstood race and they have to hate Glukkons with a pashion but they don't show it because they are really afraid. That is my guess on this idea.

I do hope we see something like this in OW4 or Munch's Exoddus.

We konw that Sligs crave love from birth but are not given any from Skillya so develop into sadistic goons owned by Glukkons.
It would be interesting to see what Sligs who recieved the love and care they need turned out like.

Also I read ages ago in some MO review thing with Paul O'Connor from OWI that we would learn a lot more about Sligs in ME.
I once thought that ME would feature Skillya because that would be revealing a lot about Sligs.

Sligs mourning? That is a whole new perspective. I've only seen slig laugh at other sligs when they get killed. But rich has a point. Perhaps if the sligs were loved and cared for then perhaps they might turn out to be the sadistic, icy and violent stereotypical slig.

sounds like and okay idea, but for a slig to do a good job he has to forget about his friends that die, morning sligs will be easy to pass.

Hmm, that certainly does put a new perspective on Sligs. We've only seen Sligs laugh at others' deaths (such as in the Slig Toss video), so we've always seen them as sadists. I think it would be interesting if they were also depressed deep down, although I doubt that would suit their personality. Hmm, mourning Sligs - I dunno. Maybe. I think they're too sadist, though.

Interns might be more caring for one another, but then they strike me more as the sort of people who just hang out together and share their amusement at the follies and exersions of others (like the Welcome Lulu scene from MO).

I have long thought there is more to Slgis than their sadistic killer side. That's probably why I lie Slig Oddysee fics a loit- it shows a new side of Sligs. I would like to see a Slig as a good guy in maybe the film or the next game should one be made. This was not myv theory, but I think that Newscaster Slig may be less evil than the others. Maybe we'll see a good Slig yet! But I'd only want thjere to be 1 though, as if it is widespread then it'd ruin the whole race, while 1 good Slig could be considered just weird and the Slig race's credibility wouldn't be ruined.

Crig the Slig was Alf's pal some time ago, but now he's retired.
Anyway he was the living proof Slig could be nice to mudokons.

I guess he was some kind of slig that was more inteligent than the others and decided to stop molesting mudokons.

I cant imagine a slig that shows emotion, well I can but I dont like the looks of it. And just for my own knowing, was Sall a sling in AE? I named one of my cats Sall and well, hes really like a slig... :fuzgrin:

She meant Slig. And in my upcoming fanfic, I have a couple of surprises lined up involving Sligs, but these surprises probably aren't surprises now that I've told you this. Damn I'm dumb at times. :o

I read on the oddworld universe site that there is a game called "SligStorm" but I think ir was cancelled. anyway, it's about an albino slig, in a world where mutants are murdered (i.e. Oddworld). It's about as long as the slig barracks level in AE.
