My Speech, Read It Mini Mod!

what is the perpose of a mini mod except one who makes faulty rules and uses the title mini-mod to bully others into following them i ask you? why is there mini-mods hmm? every one speaks of their power but i've never seen it please speak up if you have
i think the title mini-mod should be removed from the forums and Fire-Frog if you ban me i have others who follow me so is it justice if you ban me and not them? why is it fire frog uses the title to bully others into following his faulty rules and so i call for the removement of mini-mods!

Oddsville 02-05-2003 11:16 PM

I agree with this. I think that there is no need for mini mods (never really knew there was one untill recently). Sorry at the moment Im to tired to post my reasons right now so I'll do it later...:fuzzle:

Majic 02-06-2003 01:39 AM

FireFrog doesn't bully people around, but seems to be much more active in RPG then the actual mod is:|

Personaly, I think if theres going to be any mods at all, it has to be one that will do a superb job with whats what. The RPG ran great when Rachel and Danny wer around, but the rules seem to be very generic and loose.

And cooldude, a Mini Mod doesn't actually have any authoritive power. All I see that it does is provide a jealousy spot for others.

Really Rexy, your cool and all, but I think RPG should be more active and involved with what they run.

dripik 02-06-2003 09:57 AM

I think this thread isn't about OW RPG, but I'll tell what I think...

This mini-mod thing is useless, I think. One mod to RPG is enough. But everyone wants to be a mod, right? I think the best way to take the new mod that to watch her/his posts, and if she/he uses the Oddworld RPG good, he could be a mod, and the mod at that time should choose one of them. This would be good, I think. But it's only a dream...

Shadestorm 02-06-2003 09:50 PM

I agree, Rexy is cool, but she never does anything here!
She may regulate, and check that no one is breaking the rules, but a moderator is more than that.

The mod is supposed to make everybody more active, give support, extend creativity on the forums, and in the RPG forums case: be active, to create new rpgs, and make a funner gaming experience here.

As a user, I have no problem with Rex, she's nice and follows the rules, but as a mod, she spends more time elsewhere than at the forum she is moderating.

Darkest 02-06-2003 10:54 PM

I agree. Whoever is more active should become the perma-mod, with a co-mod maybe. Maybe FF is the best choice, maybe not, we'll have to look more into the matter.

cooldude 02-06-2003 10:57 PM

ok thanks for the support guys!

Majic 02-06-2003 11:45 PM

Don't double post.

Anywas, for some reason I came up with a rule system. *sigh* A shame its not needed.

Kaimana 02-07-2003 12:06 AM

I'll put my little understandings of the matter. Well where do I start, oh yeah the fact that a mini mod has no power. Cooldude, if Fire Frog has been making rules, and they have not been enforced then what is there to protest against. Fire Frog holds no power, thus bullying someone uses the title of Mini Mod is useless. In my book a mini mod never existed. But we are not talking about books are we:p Rexy seems to have been doing a fine job. Sure OW RPG is not what it used to be, but positive suggestful help for Rexy might inprove things. Thats all I have for now...

Darkest 02-07-2003 11:44 AM

My vote is that we get a new Mod or Mods... Co-Mods, mind you. These Mods shouldn't control ANY rules, just enforce the ones set out, the people of the forum should decide their own rules, its their RPG Forum!

I think Shadestorm would make a good Moderator, that's my best bet for success. Also, people in this forum need to get better at roleplaying, because, related to other forums, this place has poor roleplaying. Not that it can be fixed, but it does.

I think each RPG should have its own set of rules, also. Not a universal law of no Player Killing (which is stupid, PKing may be mean, but it needs to be in RPGs), or how to do your characters.

Majic 02-07-2003 10:11 PM

Thats what I had in mind, Darkest. Anywyas, heres an almost hideous representation of what I had in mind... Quite rough draft.

-Each RPG has its specific rules, and the rules have to be honored. Hence, if one person wants one where theres numbers and accuracy, then so be it. But resonsibility should be taken into account to prevnt people from straying away.

-If theres limits on items in one, the items stay there. If its something generic to your character (like a spear for a mud warrior) then, obviously, its used anywhere.

-The one ongoing rule about killing (I'm respecting many peoples opions here in this) is that both have to agree. Characters may be used for multiple RPGs, but in order for one to die, the person with the character that dies must send the mod a pm listing which character was killed, and who killed them and in what RPG.

-If a character is for one RPG only, the creator makes it (or adds it) and the creator can kill it at any point. Hence, only the universal characters need the pm sent.

-One mod, who come online EVERY day and checks for spam, yet participates in RPGs so if any serious problems applay (keword SERIOUS) full fledged rules may be added.

-Theres no Moolah, unless its suppose to be for one RPG only. As in, you have a certain starting moolah, and you get items along the way.

I probably had more before... but I think I've forgotten quite a bit. I'd like to at least see if other people would like a more member-run RPG like this.

Latamire_Munch 02-08-2003 01:44 AM

That sounds good to me. I personally like things plain and simple in RPG forums like this, but that's just me. RPGing is about having good, creative fun, not keeping track of every little number and detail. I say just let the members who start their own RPG's make their own rules. The main rule in the RPG forum should be to just have fun!...There I said my piece....

The Red Muse 02-08-2003 08:40 AM

hmmm...

I like Majic's idea too.
It would be great to get some order around here, because lately, at least what I've read, people have been arguing about rules and even fighting over one's opinion. That's gotta stop.

...okay... Now you can start flaming me^____^.

Majic 02-09-2003 03:33 AM

Just wondering, but is it not slightly pathetic that netiher Rexy nor FireFrog has replied to this thread? I mean honestly, if there was a spam problem or a person causing trouble, there should be somebody around.

Latamire_Munch 02-10-2003 08:14 PM

I was wondering that same exact thing....hmm..

FireFrog 02-11-2003 07:19 AM

AAAAARGH!!!

I've been gone for a while and then suddenly I'm being discriminatemanid... dis.... ah well.... against!!!

Okay, Rexy just said I was responsible and had a good idea on how to run things... she chose me to be one, I didn't even ask! She just said:

Rexy: Do you wanna be my mini mod?

Me: Sure, why not?

Now then... WHO HAVE I BULLIED? Sorry if I came across harsh about something (although i dont think i have). So tell me what I've done.

Cooldude, I'm not gonna ban you. Sheesh.

FireFrog 02-11-2003 07:36 AM

Further more, the only power I have is to say *CLOSE TOPIC* and Rex will close it... stuff like that. Nothing big, and I haven't abused this power, as I haven't closed, deleted, banned blablabla anyone or anytopic.

Obviously Hated Mini Mod :D

Just to back that up, as I think some people don't understand still.

Mini-Mods have no powers. None at all. They are just the "leaders", who can order around things.

And on the subject of banning, no Moderators have the power to ban.

Alcar...

Majic 02-12-2003 08:18 PM

I got an email from Rexy, shes having trouble with her account so she can't post... That may explain some things.
