The word Slog is in the dictionary!
Guys, I was looking something up in the dictionary, when me and my friends start playing around, and look up funny, or gross words. Then all of a sudden, we decide to loom up Slog, and it's there!
Slog:1-to strike with heavy blows, as in boxing. 2-to walk with a slow, plodding gait. 3- to work diligently for hours. 4-long hard work. 5- a long exhausting march or hike. is that weird or what? Either this is a cool coincidence, or Oddworld got the term 'slog' out of the dictionary. The definition seems to fit the persionality of a slog in a way. Oddling l:c l |
Having had to endure hiking and cricket at school, I'm familiar with all those definitions of the word slog. I think it's just a coincidence, since 'Slog' is obviously dirivative of 'dog'.

Yes, if Id gotten here earlier, Id have said the same thing.
|
nice observation, anyway I didn't knew that...
but yeah Slog is derived from Dog (as Max said) |
Well I knew it was derived from dog, but I didn't know if like, soemone was doing the same thing I did and came upon the word slog, and thought it'd be a good name for some sort of evil dog thing.

In OW, it pretty much is 'Slig Dog' isn't it?
|
That's interesting. The meanings are true to the Slogs, aren't they. Just like Slig - Slug. Their shapes are similar.
|
Its quite easy. They wanted a sligs dog. So og is from dog. Then they took the first 2 letters of slig: Sl. Combine Sl and og and hey, presto, Slog is born. The real question is, where does the name, Slig come from? (sorry if im getting of topic!)
|
it comes from squill
|
Slig = slug + squid
Ta da! |
Well, there's a little slug and a little squid in Sligs. But without pants, they look like slugs, don't they?

thanx Max for correcting me
