Ok, heres a question.......

If Abe is now free of the glukkons (Since AO), why then does he still have the stitched lips?

Wouldnt it be the first thing you removed, or would you keep them to prove what you came from (kinda symbolic gesture)

Any other opinions?

That's what it is basically. He keeps them to remind him of his past.

yup it's a symbol... he keep it to remind himself and the others his dark past and maybe futur

There are plenty of places where you could have found the information without starting this thread. There are a lot of other threads that talk about this.


Hey Mods, how about making the search button bright red or something so that it stands out more?

I never really understood that myself... why their lips are stitched up. Is it so they cant talk?

An Abe without his stitches? NO WAY!!! That would suk.

Sorry to get on your case earlier Big Raisin, but it was because there have been topics about this already. I applaud the fact that you did at least look before posting.

Abe's lips were stitched up because supposedly he was an annoyingly talkative child. I think it was to keep him from chanting but that is not completely official, the first is. He keeps them on as a badge of his past tribulations, to remember what he is fighting for. Just like you said.

Yeah, you can't really expect someone to do that.
Think if someone popping into a music forum and they never let him make threads becuas there already were.

When I make examples like that I don't mean any harm, it's more like a spontanius "What if" thing. It happens to me all the time.

All of ya'll guys says Abe should keep his stitches but won't it hurt to talk with your lips kep down with stitches and sure its a symbol of his past but he also has his scars of the paramite and scrab then the big one across his chest.:smokin:

They stitched his lips to stop him from talking... But the stitches don't do a thing. He can still talk and chant and possess slig security. That's weird... they stitched his lips for nothing...:fuzsmile:

Maybe you could come up with a 'non-silly' post?
all ive seen you do so far is moan about how badly you were treated back when by 'others', and slate people for the hell of it.

Stitches expand over time. Or maybe he just got a wrench and painfully expaned them himself.

Well maybe this will happen. in the last movie of the last game of the quintology I bet Abe will remove his stitches and put his hand to the moon as the rest of the Mudokin nation celebrates their freedom. I know it doesn't sound Oddworld enough!

there is never a final victory... so he will keep them...

I feel compasionate with Abe: my lips are stiched too!
(Don't go nuts and think I did it too imitate my hero)
Here's the reason: last week I went icehockey-ing (my first time).
It was incredibly fun and in the last minute a gave a buddy of mine a boddy-check. We fell both on the ice and guess what happened:

HIS SKATE HIT ME IN THE FACE !!!

Result: a cut of 1,5 cm in my lip, and now 3 stiches
At 15.00h I will have theme removed (don't need them to remind me about the accident.)

Maybe I'l post some pics about it, if you want.
