Halo: Eclipse
Here is the preview of the story Ive been working on for a while in my head:
Halo: Eclipse Written by: Al the Vykker All of the forces on Halo have been destroyed, including all of the covenant forces sent, the parasitic life form known as the flood, and all of the UNC forces except one. Now one survivor the Master Chief, of the once famous Spartan II's and now the only survivor from the Planet Reach, along with the AI construct of the Pillar of Autumn, Cortana, set out on a new mission. The Master Chief now must find a way to find his way back to the human home world. He must not be detected through the covenant blockade still in place, on the outer and inner colonies of Earth while still stopping at certain hidden UNC outposts that were never destroyed. This is the only way to preserve the lives of the crew from Reach, their wish to know that their home was safe, and that their lives were not wasted on fighting for that noble cause. Now with a new mission at hand he must prevail as he did on Halo, and on Reach. Though one question remains, what did make it off Halo.............. This all original story takes place in the moments Halo ended, leading up to the start of Halo 2. Halo: Eclipse Hope you guys are interested. -Al the Vykker |

Chapter 1 Dust and Echoes
The Master Chief pushed the acceleration of the Warthog, as it came through the last narrow passage. The Pillar of Autumn was on its last leg, and the ship was blowing up around him, and it became more critical every second to reach that shuttle bay. Cortana scolded him as they only now had one minute. She put it on his hud display in the helmet, as the warthog came to the Hanger. The Longsword fighter was right in front of them now, little over 100 feet. The warthog came to a screeching holt and Master Chief jumped out and went in between the barricade in place in front of him. He ran down the sraight path that lead to the fighter as the flood and covenant continued to fight and try and kill one another. He also rolled and dodged the plasma fire coming from high above, in the alcaves, and ran towards the ships bottom. The flood had discovered him and now ran right after him until he was aboard the ship and the loading ramp closed. An explosion in the hanger made him almost lose his balance, but grabbed onto a side of the ship. "We're cutting it close!"- Cortana yelled. Master Chief quickly got into the pilots seat and prepped the ship for immediate departure. There was only thirty seconds left. The ships engines fired up. "Here We go." Master Chief said aloud. The ship lifted up with the flood still underneath it, and prepared to launch out the hanger doors. Master Chief threw the acceleration forward and the engines thrusted the Longsword out of the Pillar of Autumn at full speed. Outside the ship the Longsword was visible quickly as it flew out and into the cloudy desert sky. The flood gathered and ran towards the exploding autumn. Not having any idea it was ten seconds away from detonation. A view of Halo in its final glory, as the Longsword had punched out of the atmosphere was in plain sight. The ship still accelerated as far away as it could. And then it happened. Visible for a few brief seconds a glowing aurora engulfed the area of the ring, like the suns glow. And a shockwave was sent away from Halo. The engines on the Longsword had hit critical, as the ring was exploding nearby. "Shut them down we'll need them later." Cortana told the Master Chief. "Fancy, a look." The two of them gazed upon Halo as it was exploding, and one half collided with the other. "Did anyone else make it?" The Master Chief Inquired. "Scanning......static sound....just dust and echoes...We're all thats left." Master Chief turns and begins to walk towards the pilots seat. "We did what we had to do for earth, an entire covenant armada obliterated and the flood,...we had no choice. Halo its finished." Cortana told him "No, I think we're just getting started......" He replied He began to take off his helmet as the longswords cockpit window blocked the view of Master Chief's face. The ship quietly orbited in the area where the ring was destroyed, as Master Chief quietly pondored his next move.... Well I really appreciate your anticipation, and liking of my story. I will be updating because of popular demand :) the story with either one to two chapters tommorrow. Thanks again. Your kindness is much appreciated once again.
Oh and a little side note, it will be interesting because bungie is writing a third halo novel to lead up to the events from halo to halo 2; what they will show in their next book, compared to some stuff I include in my book. Anyways check back tommorrow for chapter two definately! -Al |
