Because Abe was not the main character in MO and OWI didn't want Munch to look crap compared seeing as it was his game. Even though he already did...

yes that is the main reason... but we will probably see the shrykull again in a next game, we have a shot where you can see a shrykull in 3d (in fact we aren't sure, we simply guess it's a shrykull)
