Official December Updates - Important FAQ Update
 

December updates are up... confirmation from OWI that Munch's Exoddus will not be the next title in the FAQ update. We kind of had some hint at this in the Alf OddChat last month. Also atusi is the fan of the month ... congratulations to him! An interview with Oddworld's CG director (in which he mentions that he has been working on some new characters... exciting!) and the usual updates in Dear Alf.

I was a bit amazed when they didn't update OWI on the 1st of December. And my assumptions were correct! ME isn't the next game! Yay!

But this only leads us to even more assumptions.

there is something worser than before: we don't know anything about the next game... even not possible titles or themes.

Great updates! At least we now know that the next game won't be HOO or ME. What could it be? They were saying a possible release date next year late 2003 but that is only speculation at this point. But it is good to hear that OWI is looking towards that date at least. I have this feeling that the game titles have just been changed and that OWI just canceled those titles and created something new. But thats only my theory so I could be wrong.

I finally got my answer from Alf regarding the size of the Sea Rex. Its interesting.

Paramiteabe, MO, HoO and SO will probably come out... the game they do now is totally different, it isn't one of those games re-named.

There is no Daily Deception? I wonder if it was because a certain member (max*cough*) complained about the sillyness?


And congradulations Atusi. I figured you would get to be the fan of the month sooner or later.

If thats the case Xavier could the next one be part of the quintology and will we even see Munch in the next game? Is the next game a bonus of MO or something not of the quintology? The answer to that is unknown.

The only reason I say that is because I heard that some games will have more than 1 bonus game. Maybe MO is one of them thats going to have more than 1 bonus. And that OW4 is one of the bonus games for Munch. But his story is much more in depth and detailed and longer than Abes which needs to expand into 2 games. So we could be looking at maybe 2 bonus games for Munch. OW4 AND ME and then we go on to Squeek and his Bonus games which could be 3 games total, and then the forth character with 4 games and the fith character with five bonus games. Theres a pattern I see going on here so I will ask Alf if we will see Abe or Munch in the next game. After all he answered my Sea Rex question. But I think he will probabally just give me a bunch crap so its probabaly useless to ask him anything reguarding the future of Oddworld.

This is how I see the quntology
1. AO, AE
2. MO,OW4, ME
3. SO, S?, S?, SE
4. ?O, ?, ?, ?, ?E
5. ?O, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?E

Where every one begins with an oddessy and ends with an exoddus with a couple in batween except AO. and that each game has one more bonus than the last game. Where the whole quintology consist of 20 games.

Nothing really spectacular about this month's updates, but it's a lot better than what there's been in the last few months' updates. The FAQ is well-done, nothing especially new except the confirmation that ME will not be the next game, although we still have no word on what we'll actually be getting. Dear Alf is much better also. In fact, he almost answered all questions sensibly. It was his replies to the Big Face, Elum and merchandise querries that let it down, but congrats and well done on the less-wacked-out Alf approach. Long may it continue.

Maybe, I dunno. I know one thing: I am bubbled over with pleasure that we haven't got it this month. Of course, I wouldn't mind at all if The Daily Deception were well-done, stuck with the Oddworld-style and perhaps even be informative, but being insulting to the fans and making a mockery of itself is not what I expect, and I hope most people can agree with that.

And congratulations Atusiya on your addition to the Fan of the Month bunch. :)

I get your point... and I think you are right...

When was it insulting to the fans? And i found Daily Deception quite good...gave me something to do when bored.

I don't think they would completely stop the DD just because of what one person said...

I hope they don't stop it, I thought it was cool, especially the one with the purple shiny suit with hat for sale, haha Lulu. .:fuzsmile:
In Dear Alf what did you guys think of that question (well, not really) about not seeing Abe's feet. What a dumbass! Does anybody know who that was? Alf replied well. :fuzgrin:

Thankyou for offering it to me...:D Its very good, and im sure its interesting to read...

Unless OW4 is another Abe bonus game. ie a 3d game with abe but without Munch. This would let Abe concentrate on saving Sam without Munch getting in the way. Still, OWI said it would be nothing like we had ever seen before so I am probably wrong.

On another note, I am going overseas for 2004 so I will probably miss OW4 and have to wait until I come home and am reunited with my XBox
