What are your Christmas traditions?
Well in my family we alweys go out and get a real tree. Done it ever since I was born. We usually go out to someplace far and cut it down at this tree farm. Its really cool because the trees are all growing on the sides of these rather large hills and when it snows its alweys fun sledding batween the rows of christmas trees. I remember one year a friend of ours came out with us and their daughter went sledding and accendently sled right into a cricker bush. Yea it really was a sight indeed.
When we come home we alweys stop at this burger joint called the "Hamburger Station" and they have the best french fries ever. On Christmas Eve we ususally go around town looking at the different houses seeing the lights and all. Yep I have alot of fun around the holidays. What do you do during the holidays as traditions? |
We usually go look around at Christmas lights too. Lots of food. We make chili and ham and shrimp platters and salads and kielbasa and the list just goes on and on.

mmmmm....kielbasa. Now go watch the simpsons! mE sTUPOOD toO! |
You have that too? We have keilbasa at Christmas too and huney baked spiral sliced ham as I drool thinking about it and even Turkey. I tell ya nothing beats polish food for the holidays. Heart Burn yikes! Nah just kidding its good stuff! Anyway when your eating German, or polish food your getting yourself a meal. But I can't stand Sour krout YUCK! I hate Sour Krout!

Umm... Our Xmas traditions are something like this: We cut down a real pruce, bring it in the house and decorate it with ribbons and stuff. On Xmas eve we go to a chapel near our home for a prayer(although I don't believe in God, but...). Then we visit the graves of our departed relatives and friends and light candles for their memories.
After that, we go back to home and eat the traditional Finnish Christmas dinner, which includes; A baked ham, rosolli(I don't know what's it called in english, but it has apple, boiled potatoes and beetroots in it.), sweetened potato, carrot and turnip puddings, home-brewd-beer and cowberry dessert. Then we ... open the presents! The best part of the evening! And usually we spend the christmas with our relatives. That's about that. |
Is eating crap a tradition?

My Xmas traditions are:
food drink presents decorations happiness |

what a nice tradition!
|
I love christmas! We go out and get a tree, and we decorate it. Then we decorate it and watch Donald Duck (for the fifteenth time, it's the same show each year, yet we watch it...). And then it's the food... Ham, meatballs, salmon, Janson's temptation, eggs, caviar, shrimps... Then we open the presents and watch TV. Oh, and make snowmen! Whee! Christmas!
|
My families traditions are just to go and see both sides of relatives. Which I hate... I despise being around them, its so awkward[sp]. Maybe it's because I made them so miserable when I was a little brat. I don't know... some of them are OK... it's really my fault I don't like them, not their's.
We also go around and see the lights... which I hate. Ooh! Let's go out and see how well corporate America can capitalize on the birth of Jesus by selling tiny light bulbs to sad, sad families. Yeah that was always one of my favorites. Just about the only thing I like about Christmas is that people are generally more kind than usual, which gives me an excuse to be kind to them, rather than wishing they were dead. Heh. And presents. Of course I'm shallow enough to look forward to something such as material gain on Christmas. Happy Holidays. :dodgy: |
Christmas is great!

Your so lucky you can make a snowmen, i live in Australia and its summmer in Christmas and it never snows in Sydney. |
We have this family reunion on the 24th for my moms side. We're in the middle of everyone, and have thebiggest hosue anyways. Everybodycomes over and brings food. my other cool cousin thats my age comes and chills with me and my brother up in our office where we play a bunch of games. Our little cousin, in which we've dubbed Diablo Baby (hes 4 though) will usualy find a way to hurt one of us. He once hit my ankle cap with a wooden sword when we were playing docter. He was trying to heal my exploded arm.
Then we open presents, and then are forced into massive child labor by cleaing up. Then we hug some people. Next day is Christmas. We sit around in the morning, around our decorated artificial tree. My mom and dad pick out how its decorated. I usually don't like it. We presents. My brother and I usually go play what games we have, after watching our cat stupidly play in the tissue paper. Then we go to my dads side, up in Oklahoma on the 26th. We eat a turkey. We have beans and Mac & cheese and stuff. Thats my favorite part. Mac & cheese. Then all our family that can comes. We all open presents. Presents from my dads side usually aren't as grand, but their poorer. But I'm fine with that, its the thought that counts. Sometimes it makes me feel like a bastard judging the presents in the first place. Beyond that its just games and TV and stuff. As a side note, my brother and I have planned on a crusade. Beat 1 or 2 medium to large sized games each day, trying to stay locked up as much as possible. I'm going to beat MO in one day for fun. I also plan on drinking lots of vanilla coke. And getting some beer. And easting a lot of Mac & cheese. mmmmmm. |
Sounds like a good christmas

I love the smell of a real pine. It gives a freshness to everything. Its alweys fun going out and cutting your tree down. But whats even more special to me is the ornements we put on our tree. My ornements are very old a lot of them go back an entire centary 1890s I balieve. I mean some of them are glass balbs that lasted that long. I am usually the one decorating the tree. and my father alweys puts the star on top. We alweys save that for last. And we put tinsel on it aswell when our tree is done it just glows with beauty.
That and Christmas mourning is alweys so cool for me. I mean I am alweys surprised on how many gifts we get every year under our tree. I mean it seems like a truck load. I usually wake up early and go down and see the tree lit with all those gifts. then I lay back on the couch and relax more. But every year for me before Christmas I alweys seem to think that its not going to be as good as the last but every year I am alweys surprised and everything just pulls through. I guess its because its the end of the semester in school for me with finals and the stress of the busyness of the holiday season. That when Chistmas is here it just makes me feel releaved that the year is comming to an end and now I can relax. You know what I mean by that? |
thangving

|
I know what all my presents are, but I can't use them(DEEM!)
|
You guys are so fourtunate to get presents, the only thing i get from christmas is holiday.
|
My family is so fucked up that it would be a joke to say we have any sort of traditions. I'm the black sheep of the family, so I pretty much spend every family event/holiday being ignored and avoided. We usually decorate the tree, and my mom complains about my 'tacky' ornaments...
On christmas eve my parents cook disgusting food, [you know, turkey, ham, etc] and always try to get me to eat some. I always refuse. We also hanf up stupid christmas lights. Last year I was in charge of doing it, so I did an intentionally crappy job, and un screwed a bunch of lights so that only a few lit up. It was funny. we used to go look at other people's lights...in fact, I think they still do...I just stay home and watch porn. we open our presents on christmas morning. oh...oh yeah. the rest of my family is freakishly religious..so they bake a cake that says "happy birthday jesus" on it, and sing happy birthday. I always refuse to sing, or eat the cake. Last year me and my cousing drew a pentegram into the frosting with our fingers...my uncle punched me in the stomach when no one was looking, so that night I opened his suit case and pissed all over his clothes. my family fights a lot on christmas. I fucking hate it. stupid jesus day. |
Wow... thats so... touching.
This year, if they put you in charge of lights again, make them say "666" on your lawn, and put a cross and burn it. Give joy to the losers who go and see lights. Today I saw something pathetic. One of those big drive through light displays. Traffic was backed so far to even get in that it was at east a 2 or 3 hour wait. |
see my family.....eat food....open gifts....have fun.....give thanks....well i guess that is it.......
|
Majic, the cross burning is more of a KKK thing..not really satanic...
I spray painted 666 on the garage door ages ago...and blamed it on the neighbors. Oh...and about the drive through things....the one here is called 'christmas tree lane'. It really is pathetic how many people will pay freakish amounts of money just to live there, and then go spend thousands of dollars on high tech decorations to impress people with for like 2 weeks out of the year. Last year we went, I kept jumping out of the car to kick decorations over. I'm a jerk. |
Gee your christmas sounds so interesting. Well my christmas we go around looking at lights then go home to have dinner. Next morning we open presents. Very boring but only a few more years then i can do what ever i want. Yey
