Nuclear Fallout, How have we been effected or have we?

Years of above ground, nuclear testing has taken its toll on the citizens of the US and the world. Do we balieve that this is true because evidence points that this issue is more serous than once thought?

I tend to balieve that Nuclear testing has taken it's toll on us. Infact I balieve that cancer started because of this. What are your thoughts on this issue?

sligster 11-11-2002 06:09 PM

I think that eventually, humans will mutate will other creatures or sumtin' due to all of the neuclear stuff......then I will be king of all mutants!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joshy 11-12-2002 04:45 AM

I thought they did nuclear testing out at the sea? if it is, i dont think it effected us:p

Alcar 11-12-2002 04:52 AM

So it's okay if it doesn't affect us?

What about the people/environments it is/has affect-ed/ing.

Actually they did Nuclear testing on both land and sea. I read something about it that we are feeling the sideaffects of the Nuclear fallout right now. Mostly they are daseases like cancer, even aids and a lot of others. It was kind of scary to read about all of that. A friend of mine aloud me to barrow a DVD that showed all the Nuclear testing. And they did it in New Mexico I balieve. But it is a scary thing. Even though it took place over 50 years ago we are still feeling it today. That is scary!

I dont see how your complaining when America nuked Horishima for no reason, oh wait, there was a reason...yes...to see the pretty colours.

Anyway, they're still feeling the effects now...

M.O.M 11-12-2002 03:44 PM

anyway if anything goes wrong at these test sites 1000's of people will be affected

Joshy 11-13-2002 01:43 AM

But they did nuclear testing ages ago, is it still effecting us? i dont really think its still effecting us....

A lot of people who were involved in British nuclear testing in Australia in the 60's and 70's this year got compensation from the British government recently cos they all got sick.

This was mainly a problem in the early nuclear tests when they didn't know the risks of radiation.

There's also the emotional anguish that still is around. You can injure a person both emotionally and physically, but emotions will always prevail over physicality.

Joshy 11-13-2002 02:27 AM

I think they get emmotionally disturbed because they're physically disturbed from the nuclear testings.

Alcar 11-13-2002 02:35 AM

I'm more so talking about the emotions faced with the loss of family, friends, or the memories of such a terryifing experience.

But they would've recoverd by now, its like 50 years already. I know some things wont heal.... even time wont heal it...

M.O.M 11-13-2002 04:40 AM

and the worst thing is if they deconstruct all the nukes were left with nuclear waste and that is almost impossible to get rid off

paramiteabe 11-13-2002 10:11 AM

Yea they are still cleaning the mess today. I am totally agenst Nuclear power or anything dealing with Nuclear energy. It is too dangerous and can cause serous problems. Oh and thanks for your opinions because I am writeing an arguementive paper on this subject. I thought it would be cool to see what your opinions were on this subject. So I am going to mention these things in my paper Im doing for English. And I thought this would be a great place to get feed back from other people. Thanks a bunch!

nukes are horrible things, but we just cant stop killing our selves:

2090: the anti-matter nuke will be relised to NATO and its allies, it destroys every thing and does not stop untill i hits water, so one could take out:

canada,
the USA
alaska
texas,
down to south america,
brazill...

it's just horrible to think that we create things like this for use against our selvs!
