I missed the Sobe bus :(

Let me tell you a very sad and true story. It's something I've been beating myself up over the past two days. I literally mean, beating myself up. I had the chance to play Munch. *still crying* It all started two days ago. I was walking home from school with my girlfriend. I take a bus that I'm not supposed to take, so it's a smudge further from my house. Anyway, I'm walking, and I see this awesome bus with the words SOBE on it. (more memorably, the words "drain your lizard" on the front. So anyway, naturally, I wave and scream at the bus, because it's cool looking, and obviously it's some kind of wacky party bus. I had no idea what sobe was, or that there was an xbox in it. Granted, the bus only passed by, and we kept walking. A couple minutes later, I'm about to turn my street, and I see the bus parked behind me at this girl's house. I look back and scream "YEAH SOBE!" (still not knowing what sobe is...it was a really damned cool looking bus) The parked bus has the girls dad leaning in the door. I can only assume maybe they were asking for directions, because now I look at the schedule and they should've been on their way to philadelphia. (I'm in south jersey) The bus starts honking. They were really cool musical honks, not just like a car horn. So I scream some more, but keep walking. WHY DID I NOT CHECK IT OUT? I had no idea an xbox was in it. *wipes a tear from his eye* I can only imagine that perhaps they were honking at me to check it out. It IS a promotional bus, and I DID look like average xbox playing kid. But I went on home. The next day in my computer class, I'm sittin there browsing the internet, and I decide to check up on the latest oddworld news at oddworldian.net. "SOBE, A DRINK COMPANY HAS 8 VEHICLES TRAVELING THE US WITH ODDWORLD FOR PLAY ON IT!" ...I had to get the police to talk me out of jumping from the building. ...okay not really, no suicide attempts. But do you understand how absolutely crappy I feel? My friend rob smacked me around a few times. I deserved it. Please, tell me how stupid I am. Maybe they werent honking at me. Maybe they were just playing their little songs for the guy, and they were in a hurry to get to philadelphia. Maybe if I went up there, I never would have been let in anyway. ...but maybe I would've! someone shoot me. this is true and i wish it wasn't. My gf says "dont worry you can play it when it comes out" BUT THATS NOT THE POINT, WOMAN! I guess I'm not asking for someone to shoot me but rather a "there there, it's ok." every night I cry myself to sleep... :( duhreetoh eric@drobile.com |

im sorry man. it wasnt your fault. you didnt know it had an xbox in it. and i feel sorry for you pacen, since you live in australia. but i wont get a chance either. im too far away from any major cities. :( :( :( :(

Actually, it may not be that bad, you may not have missed it afterall. When I was putting the news up on Oddworld-Web I took a look at the schedule of the SoBe Bus and found out that the SoBe Bus has been used for other promotions than the Xbox.
The schedule I saw only had old dates and were referring to food and drink festivals or something like that. I don't think the SoBe Xbox tour begins until next month or something, because the Xbox newsletter I subscribe to said that the dates would be coming soon. Abe Babe... |
Being in UK,Sobe Super Bus does not come here. But I think,does it matter,I mean...sooner or later you WILL get the chance to play it,and because you've been waiting for it for so long,it will seem extra good!

Like Pacen and Sydney said, you're still lucky enough to have it around you - we get squat in Australia. I'm guessing though, that the huge Xbox marketing campaign will mean that you'll see the bus quite a few times. |
