Munch bonus

if they option a bonus munch game it should not be called M-exodus it should be M-Genesis since he has to restore a fallen race. its a whole new beginning for his species. it would fit the epic title scheme and it would be neat to have to guide baby gabbits to see them grow. but who knows they might have his exodus be for the fuzzles. any thoughts?

mudflub2 10-19-2002 07:49 AM

:D you think toooooooooooooo far in the future.:fuzsad: :fuzsad: :fuzsad:

Xavier 10-19-2002 08:51 AM

mudflub2, yes...
I think Munch Exoddus will be better

Wil 10-19-2002 09:30 AM

Genesis has no way of having the letters 'ODD' put into it.

If we really have to avoid 'Exoddus' my next favourite would be 'Iliodd'. Can't think of any similar words with 'ODD' in them, though.

Xavier 10-19-2002 11:33 AM

true... genesis doesn't sound good for an oddworld game.

You guys probably all know this but I thought that I would just tell everyone who wasn't aware.

The Illiad and The Odyssey were both epic poems written by the Greek poet Homer. They follow the story of a Greek warrior named Odysseus and his fight in the Trojan war. I haven't actually read them but I plan to. And once again, I'm just telling anyone who doesn't know.

Wil 10-19-2002 01:04 PM

That's right. Their current meanings in the English Language are:

Odyssey: series of wanderings
Iliad: series of disasters (my dictionary only gives it 1 'l')

And for the record:

Exodus: departure
Genesis: mode of generation

Note that two are epic poems and two are books of the Old Testament.

Other nice words with the sound 'od' in them:
Oedipus (pronounced Eedapus) is a figure of Greek history/fiction. On its own, it's modern meaning is 'solver of riddles'.

An odalisque is an Eastern female slave.

And I'm sure you all know what God/a god is.

Xavier 10-19-2002 05:59 PM

Oedipus... hmmm that's very much like oddipus.
I know where his name is from now:D

M.O.M 10-20-2002 07:13 AM

I had a strange thought when i just read xav's latest reply about Oddipus i Just thought of a squid like species for Oddworld.........I'll be thinking more about that!:fuzzle: :fuzzle: :fuzzle:

now that would be weird: an oddworld character with Oedipus' syndrome (for anyone who doesn't know, that's when a person has an unhealthy love for his mother. Oedipus killed his father so he could shag his mum.).

EDIT: just had a thought: maybe a game called Abe's Oddipus could be about saving his Sam...

Xavier 10-21-2002 03:21 AM

that's a very funny idea!
but I dout they will ever do a game with the name "Abe" in the title

I hope you mean Oedipus and not me!

In any case, it's a Greek tragedy. Everyone is messed up. Medea's husband (Jason who stole the golden fleece from the gods) left her for another woman so she killed the new wife, the wife's father and her own kids to get revenge at Jason. And other greek characters end up killing/having-sex-with lots of people by mistake and then commit suicide. The Greeks loved a comedy.

im tlaking about odipus
and more about the squid thing, i imagine it around about the size of a giant squid it has 6 eyes, 12 tentacles and it is carnivouros and territorial

paramiteabe 10-22-2002 01:53 PM

What about "Munch's Oddventure" like adventure. Yea I know it sounds far fetched and thoughtless but I just had to say that.

Xavier 10-22-2002 03:15 PM

sorry but it doesn't sound very good

M.O.M 10-22-2002 03:24 PM

no offense but it sounds 2 corny

paramiteabe 10-23-2002 01:20 PM

Percisely! Now what about a title that doesn't have Munch in it? Maybe something like (Oddworld Fate of Odd or Oddworld Born of Odd) since the next game will revolve around those 150 some Gabbiar, it could make some kind of sense. A title that doesn't give the name of the hero but is that hero's bonus game. I want a title like Hand of Odd for the next game.

But if OWI decides to change their minds on the title and make it Munch's Exoddus then I am fine with it.

Xavier 10-23-2002 02:21 PM

if it's about munch... "munch" will be in the title

M.O.M 10-23-2002 03:15 PM

anyway 'Munch's' whatever would sound better

Oddipus 11-02-2002 04:04 PM

funny,

some people didn't know where I got my nickname from.
My website/fansite uses the same O(e)ddipus theme. (Adoring mom = Sam that is) The riddle solver resembles the fact that I got every ending in every game.

I couldn't reply earlier because I was gone snowboarding last week. (It was superb by the way)

(Oedipus syndrome is also called oedipus complex, but a complex is also an other word for a place, this to explain my website's title)

Xavier 11-02-2002 04:23 PM

wow, lot's of word jokes then?
I didn't know it was so subtile

M.O.M 11-02-2002 05:34 PM

Cool!
