My Strange Forum Problems...

Hello there,

The forums have been acting quite strange for me lately. It takes a horribly long time to load each page, and half of the time it isn't even a colplete page. It will just load about 1/4 of it and then give up. This is very, very frustrating. Can anyone help?

Thanks!
Mac

Let me take a shot. Its called AOL, I think. Isn't it?

LOL.

Yeah, I do have AOL, but it doesn't do this on any other sites, not even big ones...

Still, its AOL. It may just not like this sight. Its like that, you know.

AOL is a real pain!!!

I think perhaps Pilot or Alcar could shed some more light on this than I can, as Pilot runs the server and Alcar knows all about how vBulletin and PHP work. Alcar should be back next week... as for Pilot... well not sure. :)

AOL + Windows = AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oh, the same the happened with me, except that I don't have AOL.

But, tell me when it stops what does it say at the very end?

If it says that it has done it's maximum execution time of 30 seconds then it is PHP going over its preset time limit. But this shouldn't be the problem.

If it says things in HTML that are actually showing up on the screen like: <font face="arial"> and stuff like that then it is most probably what i've written below.

You might want to back up your hard drive just in case, and download a newer version of the browser your using, if that doesn't work then it has something to do with a corupt internet browser file (which you can't get access to anyway to fix, I HATE windows).

By the way, in the end my hard drive crashed and I had to get a new one! Yay...not... :D

Thanks, Alcar.

I changed my User CP so it was the lowest number of posts on each page, and it looks like it stopped. Now every topic has a buncha pages! But it seems like it stopped.

I would try to download the latest version of AOL, but the stupid AOL company forgot about us Mac users, and so we have the latest version: 5.0. Yes, they left us behind at 5.0.
