Personal Photos
I am not an admin. But I am a Moderator, and I took part in assisting Abe Babe and Sydney with the new AWESOME UBB. I have noticed that most of the complaints are over the personal photos. Here is the reason we no longer let you use your own :
1) Many people were using wallpaper sized images just for there 60x60 pixel photo. It slowed down the forums a lot. 2) Most people do not own good photo editing software. They can't make there own. 3) A few peoples photo's were left as broken images. There are many people on the forums that do not have server space, and have no idea how to even get something like that started. In conclusion, our Personal Photo gallery will be great, when given the chance. We worked hard to bring you tons of personal photos. If you are not happy with them, and would like to request one, all you have to do is drop me, Sydney, or Abe Babe an email. We will make it and have it online ASAP. I hope this clears up all the...confusion (?), and I hope you can all except the UBB. ;) |
I think the new personal photo is awesome. There are no complants here.

i love the photos but i think it would be cool to have a picture of vykkers labs and a rat and a sea rex.

Maybe someone should start an ongoing post where people can post pics and ideas for pics they want available as personal photos.

I would give anything if I could make a searex personal photo, but OI has not released any searex pictures at all. Same with the rat...
This can be the ongoing post for peoples request. Just ask, and we will see what we can come up with. :) |

Eventually we intend our gallery to grow to 100s of personal photos... not just Oddworld, but other games, anime, TV, movies... the possibilities are endless.
That's why we want feedback on the types of photos people want. I know I was going to make some starcraft ones the other day... but time got the better of me. The only note I have to add, is that at this point in time, other photo categories will be limited to 5 of each type (i.e. 5 starcraft photos) although we may increase this or make exceptions if we find a need. And of course requests have to be appropriate... as in they need to be of things that "everyone" can use... we would reject a request if it was a photo of yourself or something like that. I know, here is the story
Did the first batch of pics, uploaded them and stuck em here. Started on the second, mum wanted to use phone, disconnected, waited for half and hour or so, got back on and started to work on the last batch, finished, internet went on a melt down so i had to wait for ages for it to come back up, played AOE, got back on and posted. ANYHOO i found out that you guys did a intern one for rich so the rest still stand!! |
i LOVE the slig pic i have as my photo. it's really cool. i could never get the pics to work on the old ezboard.

I have a question. Why have we put up Dark crystal photos, which to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong) no one requested. Yet, I requested ONE starcraft photo, and I even gave you the link. Osiris, what is that picture of? We need to know what to make it. The format goes Origin - Descritpion. So a picture of Abe would be Oddworld - Abe. Your picture will be Starcraft - Whatever. So what's it of?
