a tough woman's character
What do you think of a tough woman's character?
The alien 2 was exhibited in 1987(?). She(=Sigourney Weaver) became the symbol of a new woman's image. http://a1259.g.akamai.net/f/1259/558...0/10077513.jpg How do you feel the character of a tough woman like tombraider or darkangel or biohazrd...? http://www.tombraidermovie.com/splash_frames.html http://www.darkangeltv.com/ http://www.womengamers.com/dw/ http://www.planetdreamcast.com/rems/firstimage.jpg atusi's father... |

I think there is alot of change of women's status in society and games and movies.

My idea of a tough character would definatley be Dark Angel (Max/Jessica Alba). She's so sweet, but also can kick butt at the same time!:D U go gal!

Hello atuyisa. I think it is good to have more tough women characters and women who actually do something instead of just standing around looking pretty and acting dumb. The women in the Final Fantasy games are good as they are (mostly) standing up for themselves (although the guys help out too) and they are always fighting in battles.
One thing I do not like is when they make women characters a sex symbol. Like Lara Croft. She is good tough character but I do not like when they try to make her breasts larger just for teenage boys with hormones. I saw a picture of Yuna which looked like a cross between Yuna and Lara Croft. She had guns and skimpy outfit!!!!!! It said it is for an upcoming game based on Final Fantasy X. I hope they don't make Yuna's character like that, it is not her. Oh no!!!!!!! :( :fuzsad: :crying: |
ku
the sites look cool and stuff.:smokin:

The name was "Yuna Croft", I didn't really like it that much either. Alcar... |
It is marketing...

I don't really have an opinion about this subject, but I have an opinion about a lil' something related:
Do any other guys think it is very hard to create girl characters? |
Hello Alcar. Yes, I think that is what people would say it is. Some people on another forum were saying it was real and was from the Tokyo Game Show but I wasn't believing them.
And hello atuyisa. I read the link you gave me. I agree with what is said of Tifa in Final Fantasy 7. I think they might have been trying to follow in the ways of Tomb Raider (I am not sure which year Tomb Raider first come out). Since then there have been some buxom characters in Final Fantasy but they are not like in Tifa. In Final Fantasy X the summon Shiva is a little revealing in some places. I also heard that Japanese culture is a little different to that in the western world and it is more acceptable to show that kind of thing for younger boys. I don't know if that is true so forgive me if I offend as it is just what I read. |
