Has ME been confirmed??
 

I was just wondering if it has actually been confirmed, or if everyone just expects to be next. This would really clear up some of my confusion. Also If it has been confirmed/hinted in an interview or article try to post it. Thanks in advance.:) :)

Actually OWI has not officially released the title of the next game. Someone on the staff mentioned in an interview that some of the quintology games would have bonuses (like AE to AO) so many of us took that to mean that EVERY game would have a bonus.

But in fact the next game most likely WON'T be titled Munch's Exoddus. If it was I don't understand why OWI (particularly Alf) always refer to it as "Oddworld 4". I also vaguely recall Alf saying that the games weren't going to come out in the order that we expected or something.

Yeh, Ive told people before that I doubt they would go along the lines of AO-AE, but they still think Munchs' Exoddus will be the next game....poor sods....anyway, I thought Hand Of Odd was going to be the next game. I hope not anyway, coz OW wouldnt look quite as good in the form of a strategy game.

Maybe Munch goes on an adventure by himself in the next game, only to team up with Squeak, but who knows. All Im thinking about is how they are going to think of another word that has 'od' in it so they can make it 'odd'. Theres not many words out there that relate to an adventure/evacuation etc.

I, personally, hope they aren't making a second Munch game. I'm all for newness...Though I'm unsure about a strategy game; I normally don't like them....but if it's on the X-Box then it should be simple enough for me to handle. MO is very strategic for a platformer however, with the gamespeak and upgrading you "units" (Mudokons) and all, so it could be cool.

Coming into the Oddworld community is weird for me. OWI is extremely ambitious and have promised, what, a 10 game massive epic over 25-30 years or something crazy....plus spin-off series, plus movies....And everyone seems to think they completely understand how the whole franchise is going to pan out in the future. It's very Odd...But I guess that's the nature of the beast around here.

Thats very interesting Khanz. I didnt know some of that. Well you learn everyday:D I just want to see what they will come up with, and hope it is fun.

the only thing I can say is that Lorne said there will come a Munch Exoddus, But I don't know if it's theuir next game

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Hand of Odd being next. It would bring a new and exciting flavor of Oddworld gaming to the table.

OWI have said that every Oddysee game will have at least one bonus game.

In one of his later Designer Diaries, Paul O'Conner refers to the next game as Oddworld: Munch's Exoddus, and hinted at a storyline, but as we all know a lot can change in computer games from conception to release.

Max, I know, but If it's realy Munch's Exoddus, why does OWi so much things about hiding the name? Do you think it's just a Joke.

Very good point, it may very well not be Munch's bonus game. If it is Hand of Odd, then that's great - even more delayed than MO, but we get it nonetheless. If we are getting a Munch sequel next, then, well, I've already told you what it was called a year ago.

Interesting note, Paul O'Conner is no longer an Oddworld Inhabitant. I'd lke to know why (pleasey-weasey Alf?).

Well from the clues I've gathered together, the next game just might be Hand of Odd. If it is then prehaps they have changed the name (and Im very certain they would have), thats why they would reffer to it as Oddworld4.

I actually strongly believe the next game will mainly focus on Munch again, I just don't think it will be titled Munch's Exoddus.

I wrote a letter to alf asking about ME, he responded to me but he didnt refer to it as ME and said that they have no specific date in sight for the next game, but he assured me that they are working on another game. I personally think that the next game will be ME.

well, yes we KNOW they are working on a game, that's great, but now the question is : what will it be ?

Hopefully not a strategy game just yet.

I am sure we will know more in about another year! Mann I hope not but I am beginning to see that to be true. Lets face it they are not going to tell us anything until the few weeks comming up to it's launch. yay.:( :fuzemb:

Well, his only mention in the credits for MO is for 'additional Munch support'. Early on in the project, Paul was something like lead game designer, so I guess they credited him for his early work.

that doesn't mean he isn't an inhabitant anymore, he can be working on an other project like Hand Of Odd or something

Thats very true Xavier, I never thought of that. When I heard Max mention his significant absence from the credits I immediatly came to the conclusion that Max did. Lets just hope your right Xav.:fuzwink:
