actually Abe is 15 years and Mudokons have a lifespan of 40 years.

age

Imagine an average human's lifespan is about 80 years (assuming they die naturally). Actually it is more like 70 but this makes the math easier. Abe is 15 and will live to about forty. If you do the math he would actually be about 30 years old if he had a human lifespan.

So he isn't really as young as you think when you consider the lifespan. Same with Munch.

You also got to put in the fact that this is Oddworld. It is ten times bigger than earth. Plus we don't know how long an actual Oddworldian year really is. A year on Oddworld could be like two years on earth or more depending on how long Oddworld takes to orbit it's sun. If Oddworld takes say three earth years to revolve around it's sun then do the math and you will know how old Mudokins are at 40 years in humen years.

in fact 15 years isn't realy concrete, since Alf can't explain us how the Oddworld time works and is counted.

Well, there are seconds and minutes just as we have them. There must also be a number of hours in a day that is a multiple of twelve, looking at the Brewmaster's timepiece.

And the age expectancy of a person in Britain nowadays is 88, which is quite impressive.

yes, Max I know there are also some days called "sundays"...
It was on the old site

rikkypop 09-20-2002 05:16 PM

i got that from an oddworld website, long ago.

can't remember what it was.

Xavier 09-20-2002 05:26 PM

well, I wasn't realy sure if he was 15 or 18. but it says 15 on the official site, check the link I posted

time

Just because oddworld is bigger than earth dosn't mean the days are any longer. The planet could rotate and revolve faster and countless other variables could effect it in ways that make it more similar to earth than we think.

And Max I heard that my generation is expected to live 120 if we die naturally. I'm not sure why but I learned it in my health class at school.

Yeah, there are so many different things that you'd have to take into consideration. *gets an idea* Haha!

Oh, plus Oddworld has months. The last issue of The Daily Deception (not the Online one) was printed around 11 December time, if you look at it.

a little picture of it

ryu 09-21-2002 06:02 PM

will abe die young

so what you guys are sayin is abe will not die young am i right

paramiteabe 09-21-2002 08:46 PM

40 years old for a Mudokin is probabaly like 100 years old for a humen. That has to be the explanation by that. maybe 40 years is like 100 earth years like I said above.
