Games. What would you change?

In some video games, there are buggy little things that annoy you. Like on NBA street for PS2, in create player mode, you can't change tops and bottoms seperately, you gotta have one outfit! If you don't get what I mean, tell me. Also, in Dynasty Warriors 2 there is no create player mode, the sounds are pathetic and when there are lots of people, they keep appearing when others die. And on Rollercoaster Tycoon, you can't kill people by running rollercoasters into them.

Post your own game bugs.

Well, for starters i would have interactive enviroments. There has been countless times on games were i shot a light, expecting it to 'pop' and all that happens is it leaves a small bullet mark in the light. Then i would make sure stuff actually happens, such as, shoot a hanging sign and it swings, shoot the chain holding it and the sign comes down. Then, realistic bad guys...you shoot their legs, they hop. Shoot their stomach they drop down to the ground in pain, attempting to crawl away. Shoot their gun and they will surrender, however, if you turn your back on them they will go for the gun and try and kill you. Decent enemy AI. I have been on games were i have taken out a group of guys with a Sniper rifle, none of them dove for cover...they just stood there...looking around. I would have the ability to replay the mission, like Driver, were you can direct and edit stuff. That was a good thing to have, but do shooting games such as Hitman have it? No...and why? It would be such a good idea. Directing your own Assassin movie. With different camera angles and stuff...*Tuts*

In Dynasty Warriors 2 (again) the enemies (and allies) are so dumb! They stand around doing nothing until there is an enemy within a 20 metre range. It's pathetic. And on Silent Hill 2 there are only some human characters in the game. It gets so lonely, but that's what brings the spooky feeling to the game.
On Gan Turismo 3, 2, 1 and concept, if you crash into a wall at 600 miles an hour, you won't even put a dent in the car.

ExciteBike for the NES
You overtake the same bikers and yet it seems to be a race against the clock.

And in Gran Turismo 3, if you drive an F1, you overtake people about 10 times in endurance race, because the opponents are driving ordinary racing cars. Come on, some competiton would be nice.

In medal of honour allied assault, the pc opponent is so easy, they dont run away, the thing i do is ran up to them and kill them with my bare hands.

I doubt Deus Ex 2 will have the whole 'replay and direct the replay' in the way that Driver does...

games

The game Empire Earth should be less complex, Its too hard for normal strategy players. But the graphic in this game is great.

General Drippik 09-22-2002 02:40 AM

Some PS1 games graphics are so bad that you have to stare for 5 minutes to tell what the thing is.

The Sour Slig 09-22-2002 08:35 AM

Another thing about Dynasty Warriors 2, the game should have actually been GOOD. Its one of the most rubbish games I've ever played, with repetitive combos and rubbish AI.

Games shold just be original, unique and fun to play with alot of replayability. Halo has this, Deus Ex has this and no doubt will their improved sequels have it too.

I could unpack my ideas for you, but it'd probably go over the bandwidth of the entire net! I come up with ideas for games all the time (as I wish to be a games/level designer when I leave school) :)

I have ideas for games too, but i just wanna be a Lawyer. So im thinking of selling my ideas...
