The future of gaming... doomed!
Graphics in games are getting better and better, but how good can they get until they become impossible to make. Will there be a point where game consoles are at a stand still. Game desghners are only human, games will start to take more and more years to complete. The industry can't go on forever unless the graphics at some point reach a maximum. What do you think?
|
no i dont think so. there are comupters that can write their own scripts, we will find a lazy way to have computers make high quality things and then we will edit them to our likeing. besides nothing could take longer than a blizzard game anyway and they have terrible graphics.

Souled out, I wanted to compliment you on your name.
Unless you're just incredibly stupid, and think that's how you spell 'sold'.. |
Spam. I do it. Don't follow my lead, D.I.
They'll find a way to make games quicker, I assure you. Graphics are getting better, that's for sure. But if graphix get so good that it takes 10 years to komplete a game, i'll cut off my penis and feed it to my chook. |

Watch it. Alcar... |
Alcar dont be such a square.
Graphics will keep improving until its like controlling a real person, when thats done such things as 'consoles' will not exist as you will actually be inside the game via head-set or something... |
:
But it really does have no place here. Alcar... |
Now Really, apart from maybe Sport Games and Fighting Games and maybe some others, you play games for the story, not for the graphics. Yes Graphics are a bonus, but you ain't going to play/buy them just because of that. And that goes for Sport Games and Fighting games as well. So unless they run out of idea's, the Game Industry is here to stay.

Alcar: Sorry 'bout the *^#$%PeNiS @#*! comment |
I've heard of programs with super advanced scripts that actually grow things, such as lifelike forests, instead of the developers having to make them from scratch. I'm sure a program like this could help the industry a lot.

It'd be cool if they could have a time engine in games, like pokemon gold silver and crystal. And it changes from night to day very realistically. On p'mon g s and c it goes dark at six o'clock. Like, instantly. That doesn't happen. And people walk around at two o'clock in the morning. Geez..
Silent Hill 2 gets a bit lonely coz there ain't no one but jimmy and the manifestations around. |
Come on people, keep talking. I like this topic.

I love being a square ;) Alcar... |
But when you edit a post the topic doesn't go to the top, does it?

Hello MojoMan220. I too wonder what games will be like in the future. At the moment there are some very realistic graphics. If not in the gameplay, at least in the FMVs. When I play Final Fantasy X I think I am watching a movie. The graphics although you can still tell they are CG they are very realistic. Imagine if someone made the graphics of the Final Fantasy movie into gameplay. That movie is so realistic you sometimes cannot tell it is computer generated. But maybe in the future it will be more virtual reality. Like you connect a VR device to your console and it is like you are in the game. It would be so wonderful to do that. Imagine being in the game with Tidus!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh sorry, I went overboard again.
|
Hello Sommoner Yuna, I bileieve you're new here. To be honest, you didn't go overboard okay, you don't have to be that mature. Just don't go as far as me (I fall off the ship, sink to the bottom and drown with a shark attacking my toe.)
But anyway, I'm with you about the video games. The virtual headset will be an awesome thing to have in the household. The control is connected to the head set, and you walk around and play it. With first person shooters you hold the gun and so does the guy in your headset, he follows all your moves. That would be seriously cool. Anyways, I've got a PS, a PS2, a Gameboy, a PC(2 actually), and an atari 2600. Lucky me. |
I think it's possible to have holographic systems... I've already seen holographic advertisements. I think it would be cool to actually step into the game, not have it porjected on a headset.
|
Slightly impossible, but, good idea. Wouldn't the headsets make you dizzy?
