rumours

on the oddworld web site under the rumours section it said that the 4th wuintology game might be called nod's oddysee. i was just wondering where the rumour originated.

iliodd 04-16-2001 05:22 PM

I think the fans made this one up  I haven't seen anything from OWI about it.

Osiris The Fleech 04-16-2001 05:27 PM

I think Iliodd's right.

Wil 04-16-2001 06:26 PM

I think you're wrong...for I was the very first person to note down Nod's Oddysee as being the fourth Quinotology title! It was from an OWI member, but I haven't for years been able to track the thing down.

Oh, and Iliodd, did you think of the word 'Iliodd' on your own? Because I know I did!

iliodd 04-16-2001 06:47 PM

Yeah, I was thinking of a name for the forums, like "Homer's Oddyssee", then I thought of the Iliad and the rest, as they say, is history.

So Nod is confirmed? or no?

Cloverfield 04-17-2001 04:24 AM

No official confirmation of Nod has come from OWI as yet... which is why it's just a rumor.

Max may have heard a staff member "leak" the information at some point in time, to an email list or message board (I know what' you're referring to Max... just not naming names ok) ... but as far as the official side of things go... this has never been confirmed (or denied in that case).

Abe Babe...

Lantra 04-17-2001 09:41 PM

the rumour came from yuor site abe babe.

Osiris The Fleech 04-18-2001 02:27 AM

No, it didn't. That rumour came from somewhere secret. It somehow made its way to Oddworld-web.

Lantra 04-18-2001 02:52 AM

can you tell us what secret place it came form?

Sl'askia 04-18-2001 03:01 AM

if they told you what the secret place was it wouldn't be a secret, hehe.

Elum 04-18-2001 03:07 AM

It either came from some poor guy with mental issues, or it came from Oddworld Inhabitants. Take your pic. :)

Cloverfield 04-18-2001 03:36 AM

Actually my source was Max. It's just that I think I know where he got it from... but I am not 100% sure.

Abe Babe...

ODDBODD 04-18-2001 09:21 AM

Max is the same dude that said that glukkons and sligs are related.....I guess you can see my point

Wil 04-18-2001 09:50 AM

Yes, I see your point, Oddbodd, but I shaln't get into that.

Abe Babe, could you tell me where you thought that rumour came from? I've forgoten, as I said. Unless, you mean that thing...

Danny 04-18-2001 08:56 PM

Max has never been wrong before. i have total faith in him. he is the Oddworld Dictionary, after all.

ODDBODD 04-20-2001 01:36 PM

I have nothing against the poity little max, but some of his theory's can go wrong

Wil 04-21-2001 05:42 PM

A theory cannot go 'wrong'. It can be proved that the ways are other than those that the theory states or suggests, but a theory cannot go 'wrong'. My theories are no better than anyone elses. I've more facts, more tidbits of info, more depth of knowledge, but I've no more clues when it comes to guesswork.

the·o·ry (th-r, thîr)
n., pl. the·o·ries.

1. Systematically organized knowledge applicable in a relatively wide variety of circumstances, especially a system of assumptions, accepted principles, and rules of procedure devised to analyze, predict, or otherwise explain the nature or behavior of a specified set of phenomena.

2. Such knowledge or such a system.

3. Abstract reasoning; speculation.

4. A belief that guides action or assists comprehension or judgment: rose early, on the theory that morning efforts are best; the modern architectural theory that less is more.

5. An assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture.

Just sticking up for Max. I think he number 5 would fit in best
