How long are they going to make us wait!
 

It has been about ten months since the release of MO and still not a shread of official news on ME. My worst fear is that OWI is as close to finishing the game as they were when MO was released. We already got the first Halo 2 shots a month ago and the trailer is coming in a few days, so ME should be on its way as well(hopefully). I just need one screen that shows me they are working on it and that it looks good. I can't wait any longer.:fuzsad: :fuzsad:

I know how ya feel Mojo Man I too cannot wait, but if we want a great game its gonna take some time. A few nights ago however I asked Alf (on Oddchat) when we would here news about the next game, unfortunatly (not sure if he was joking?) he said prehaps a decade if where lucky!? Now I have no idea if he was joking or not as from then on he wouldn't reply to my questions asking him if he was joking. I defenatly hope we do not have to wait that long for the next game! Im gonna go crazy!!!:fuzsmile:

They are makeing it but they are not telling us anything because OWI is in top secret mode from what I read in the inhabitants interviews! That is the reason I think why Alf would say something like that and not say it was a joke, or not answer your question if it was a joke. I figure they don't want anyone to know anything about the game not even when it will come out until the very few weeks before it does come out. That way we will be very surprise to see what Lorn has cooking up for us. Thats my feeling. Look what happen with MO. We were all excited and siked but when it came out we were disappointed because it wasent what we expected. I think Lorn took that to note and decided not to spill anything about future games or ME to the public until it's release. And quite frankly I think that is a wise move on their part.:fuzblink:

I talked to Alf yesterday and this is why they haven't released ME information yet.

Yes us the fans of oddworld. After all of the disappointment and hate mail they recieved after MO was released they decided it was better not to tell people what would be in ME. They don't want to say that something will be in the game and then cut it out, thus disappointing us.

So if we the fans hadn't made such a big deal about MO we might have ME news now. He did say, however, that they might give us a little news after they have the game engine finished.

Please, i dont think any game has taken 10 yrs to build and he prolly didn't answer your question on it being a joke or not cos h was laughing so hard that you believed it.

I dont really mind how long the game takes to build, so long as its a decent enough game. Better graphics and story and more interactive enviroments etc.

well an Oddworld game takes approximatively 2 years to make. So ME is probably in 14 month's, probably more.

I asked Alf what the tentative release date for ME is and he said it was to early to tell. But he told me that a game takes about 18 to 24 months to make. So I asked him if ME would be out in 2004 and he said he hopes not, because that is to far away. But my guess is late 2003 to early 2004.

Alf also told me what to expect from the September updates. He said that they aren't big. They just fixed up the news site to make it faster. But of course there is new Ask Alf, fan art, FoM, etc...

He also said that a punk band sent him a f u n n y song that will also be on the site.

Damnit Khanz how do you get him to answer your questions! I always ask him stuff and never get a reply! (Ok, well sometimes he's nice enough to send me one, but thats only for questions that don't have anything to do with Oddworld Info) It seems that you have asked the same question I did about when we'll here something about the next game but noooooooooooo he has to answer you and not me! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:fuzsmile:

Alf dosn't always answer my questions. He tends to avoid the more nerdy, taking-oddworld-too-seriously ones.

But as far as all that information goes... The only reason I found all that out was because I talked to him privately on OddChat. It's not like I'm good pals with him. Someone was spamming a lot so he wouldn't talk to the other people that much.

He's a nice guy though. The times I've talked to him he really seems disappointed that we were sort of let down by MO. But he keeps on saying ME will make up for it.

Hmm, Can't wait for ME then. Indeed Alf is a nice guy (from when I've talked to him) but last time I talked to him on Oddchat he said that he had acouple of Margeritas, so I guess thats why he didn't really answere to many questions?

Did I mention that Alf said OWI is considering releasing a book called, "The Art of Oddworld"? He asked if I would buy it and of course I said yes.

For real there will be a book containing all the concept art images of Oddworld? I want it mann! I got the book "The Art of Star Wars and the Art of episode 1." That would be really cool to own "The Art of Oddworld." I love the concept art of Oddworld. Those are one of my inspirations in art mann! So lets hope OWI issues a book and sells them at book stores like Borders or Walden Books. But of coarse I won't get my hopes up quite yet.

I doubt it will contain all the art off oddworld.
I just hope there will be lots of no-yet published images.

I think that OWI has been considering it for a while because Pilot already knew about it when I mentioned it to him. He said it would have both conceptual and rendered artwork and it will include many unrealeased images.


Assuming, of course, they decide to make it.

Well lets hope they will do it!
It will be something extrordianary for my collection
