Oddworld Awards: You must read this!
I am hosting the Oddworld Awards at Oddworld Universe (www.oddworlduniverse.cjb.net).
It is all the fans that will get to vote for the oddworld websites that should receive the different awards. Speaking of awards, there are 8 and they are the: ~Creativity Award ~Originality And Imaginative Award ~Design And Layout Award ~Most Updated Award ~Topsite Voting Award ~Oddest Award ~Information Award ~Graphics And Pictures Award If you have an oddworld website and like me to place it in the voting websites, then email me or post it here. It will be hosted on Oddchat where the winners will be announced on there. The date and time is not confirmed yet but it is definately going to be in December, but before christmas. I am asking That Abe Babe or Sydney tell me when a good date could be, and if there is anything about this that you might want changed.  |

It's great you feel that it is rigged, if you can see up the top where my first post is then you'll see that it is the FANS that get to vote.

Oddworld-Web would probably be appropriate for all categories except for the Oddest Award (that's gotta go to a way out site like OddBodd's). And the Topsites I think is already decided as that's based on who is leading the topsites list (currently Oddworldian by miles... I never go good in that one). Abe Babe... |

Sure, I'll submit Oddworldian, the address is www.oddworldian.net.
Why don't you just set up some polls on a website rather than using OddChat? Polls have IP checking and cookies to ensure a person can only vote once per poll. Plus the duration of people voting will span for the howver long you wish rather than just one OddChat session, to which not many will be able to attend. |
I think Polls are a very good idee, who put it on hist site? Alcar,Sydney or Abe Babe?

Yes thats right, thats what i'm doing. I'm using www.votations.com (thanks to Abe Babe for this site) to set up a survey.
I'm doing a survey because it can have multiple questions and answers. And people will not have to go back and vote for 8 different sites, but choose each one at once. The voting will be done on my site but during the time that voting is on i will be on Oddchat. At the end of the voting time, the winners will be announced through Oddchat and i will ALSO place the winners on my site if Oddchat doesn't work for some people. You might have to check the news and main page for the winners. At the moment i don't know how long voting should be held for but i am thinking 3-4 hours, please tell me if this is too long, or too short. Of course if any participating site would like to link to the voting pages address then do so. You'll have more chance of winning an award. I will email all the different site owners who have submitted their website into the awards, to tell them the exact site name, so you can link directly to it. The date and time has not been announced, but be assured that i have my calendar in front of me and checking for a suitable day to hold it on. All i know is that it will be in late December, but it will be BEFORE Christmas. And again all participating sites will get an email reguarding the date and time. So far these are the submitted sites: Oddworld Universe Oddworld Web Oddworldian Oddbodd Oddsville Oddworld News We do need more websites to submit, maybe some of the larger sites (Oddworld Web and Oddworldian, if you don't mind you could please advertise, saying something like: if you have an oddworld related site you should join up for the Oddworld Awards where you could win awards for your site). The 8 awards are still the same, i'm not adding anymore either. Also i do not know the MAIN email address that most of the submitted sites use, so could you post them here. Why don't you post this on your site sydman? Besides, non-forum people should know about it, and you need info on what to submit, and when it ends and begins, and the rules.

This is annoying that people would like it held on another site. And you are complaining about it too! God, i am so sorry that i wanted to be kind and hold the awards. The awards will still go ahead on the date of: 9th November at 11am (australian time). Go to www.timezoneconverter.com for other countries time. Will still need more people to add their sites to the list, i only have 6! If some of the bigger sites (Oddworld Web, Oddworldian) could please post a note or something like that on your site. Having only 6 sites is not worth doing the whole thing. So far it is still the same sites: Oddworld Universe Oddworld Web Oddworldian Oddbodd Oddsville Oddworld News Like i said there are only 6! Remember to be on Oddchat from the time that the polls are open. The actual polls will be open for 3 and 1/2 hours. And people will only get to vote once. I don't understand that either Alcar... you hosting it on Oddworld Universe is fine. Plus, usually awards are held by a smaller site... it doesn't usually make sence for one of the main sites on the web to hold awards IMO.
Once you have the page prepared, I'll add it on my front page, with a button to go to vote. :) Abe Babe... |

If you go to the other Oddworld Awards topic you'll see that i have drastically changed the factors of the awards. Now hopefully if sydney or abe babe would post news about it on their site then more outsider people should submit their oddworld sites. |
