O.: Abe's Exoddus PC CDRom Problems

Hi,

I dunno if this is the right place to post this prob, but I'll give it a try...

the game i have probz with is oddworld: abe's exoddus for PC

When I first played the game everything went fine, like opening movie, abe trough the hole, options, gamespeak...
But when I start the game and I enter the secret area at the first screen, the game hangs... It "trys" to play that sound when you hear everytime you come to a secret...
So the game just crashes and I have to reset my pc :fuzsad:

Now I had some probs before with games and I always turn the harware accelaration... that's what I did with my sound, set the hardware acc. to none

Now the secret-area-sound works great and the game runs fine, but now I having troubles playing the movies...
They are verry shoppy and the voices are repeating itselfs :fuzemb:
verry annoing.

Does anyone has the same problem? or know something I should try to do... please tell me.

My pc config is:

Operating System: (Windows XP Professional (5.1 - 2600)) Memory: (Usage: 190/320MB (59.38%))
CPU: (1-Intel P3 Celeron (Cu), 641MHz, 128KB (62% Load)) Display: (1024x768 32bit 75Hz) GFX Card (NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64)

Thanks!!!

Probably, I think that the game(= Abe's Exoddus for PC )does not correspond to WIN XP.
Abe's Exoddus PC corresponds only Windows 95/98...

anyway..

PC

There are a lot of problems with the PC versions of AO and AE. Everybody has a different story. I have both games on PC and they work fine on Windows XP. Well I've noticed a couple glitches but nothing that has majorly impacted the gameplay.

.............................................

I guess my point is, good luck. I hope you figure out how to solve your problem. Most people eventually do.

[Supplement.]

Only AO of a Japanese version is sold in Japan.
This version is WIN95/98 correspondence.
Therefore, when OS was WinMe, even the in stool of a game was not made.
If AO for PC cand AE for PC are installable by WinXp, and if it will operate, It is glad for me
I want to try at once..!.

I've come up with a fix for getting AO or AE to run in XP. Windows XP has a backward compatibility feature that is not enabled by default. To enable this, right-click on the game icon and select Properties. At the top of the present window, there is a tab labeled "Compatibility." Select Compatibility mode and then select "Windows 95" from the drop-down list. Click okay, and then launch Oddworld!
Hope it helps. Found it in a topic somewhere.
