Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers!

How many can't wait till the next Lord Of the Rings comes out? I can't. Isn't it comming out this comming November? I just had to ask because I am real fan for fantasy. I play a lot of DND with my friends. We have been playing this campagin this past summer and we are not even finnished. Now we have to wait till next summer to pick it up. Right now I am a level 4 Clerec.

The Sour Slig 08-26-2002 12:10 PM

Yeah, part 2 will be brill :)

And as for DND, I'm a level 13 Rogue (soon to die, however :( )

paramiteabe 08-26-2002 12:31 PM

Yea in my group we have 3 Palletons one Clerec which is me and one ranger who is the DM. Are last mission was to search out a giant wild Bore who was rampageing villages. Well it turned out that the bishop who sent us on this mission was lieing to us and has opened a demon gate. So we are now dealing with an evil bishop. But I have to wait till next summer to pick it up because some of my friends went back to school in New Orleans.

Wow!DND sounds like a cool game!

The Sour Slig 08-26-2002 04:43 PM

Palletons? Never heard of them. A monster class?

And yeah, DND is brill. I was planning an adventure, but I've got too much important things to do (it was a great story if I may say so myself). Lower level characters is so much easier for DMs.

RPG

I'm not a die hard fan of roleplaying games like D'n'D but I do play a little bit of Warhammer 40k. I have Eldar, Ork, Space Marine, Tyranid and Tau armies. I like painting the figures.

The Sour Slig 08-26-2002 05:05 PM

Warhammer isn't an RPG :)

Jacob 08-26-2002 05:14 PM

At the risk of sounding sad i too used to do the whole '40K' thing. But i liked the story behind it...such as the 'Dark Elders' and shtuff...They were my faves...the way they tortured peeps and their clothes etc just kicked ass...I liked Tyranids aswell...As for D'n'D i wunt go near it...

paramiteabe 08-26-2002 06:42 PM

We actually did pretty good for low level characters because we were faceing giant spidars, Orcs, Warewolfs, Welverins which is kind of like a small dragon creature with poisonous stingers, winter wolves in the dwarfen kingdom and something called a Barbazoo, and a bunch nasty devels and demons like hell hounds and hell cats. For low level characters we were strong.

Warhammer

I agree with you to Jacob. I am more into the story and the characters than actually playing the game. I also like the overall look and feel of the miniatures. They are all pretty gothic.

And I know it isn't an RPG Sour Slig... but it is still a "table top game" sort of thing, like D'n'D.

As for The Two Towers... yeah I can't wait for that movie. Gollum will be awesome! ppprecccioussss.... hissss..... He is my favorite character.

Disgruntled Intern 08-26-2002 09:49 PM

The two towers comes out december 18th.

I'm only looking forward to it because Golem will play such a major role in the movie.

I like golem.

Jacob 08-27-2002 06:19 AM

What is Golem? Why does he play a bigger role?

I guess we learn new things about members every day! I never expected Jacob to be a RPG player of any kind (even if it was some time ago).

As for me, I've never played any kind of tabletop RPG, never really had the opportunity to... I'm just a fan of the computer based RPG games.

As for the next Lord of the Rings movie... I'm really looking forward to it. I enjoyed the books as a teenager, and loved the first movie. It is one movie I wouldn't want to miss when it comes out at the end of the year.

Abe Babe...

I think the only reason why Golem is such a big character is because he was the first one to find the ring and he wants it for himself. Other than that I don't know.

Disgruntled Intern 08-27-2002 12:10 PM

I know he'll play a major part because I've read the books.

You might actually enjoy and appreciate the movie more if you read the books first.

Majic 08-27-2002 09:30 PM

I used to play Warhammer40k. That was one of the things I used to do. Large setup of Ultra Marines/Orks/Tyranids/Stortroopers. Its a shame the place to play went out of business about a year ago.

I never saw the first LOTR. I don't really plan on seeing TTs either. Just something thta didn't interest me. I'm thinking of reading the books sometime though. The're suppose to be great.

I can't wait

I can't wait until lord of the rings 2 comes out

Loup Garou 08-31-2002 11:05 AM

Well I have read the book "The Two Towers" two times I think and I'm really lokking foward to the movie, why?

1. More action in it then the first part, more orcs....

2. The creature Gollum

3. The avenge of the Ents....he..he...

Disgruntled Intern 08-31-2002 08:53 PM

Ah, yes, the ents...

I had almost forgot about them....Hopefully they won't be totally misrepresented..

Jacob 08-31-2002 10:14 PM

Ents, explain please.

Have you read the books? You know, the tree people? Oops, I hope I didn't destroy anything now... *nervous laugh*
