Maggie... DEAD?!
Alright, I was thinking about this today. Maggie's got lung cancer, right? There's a very good chance she'll die within the Quintology... But what would happen if she died? Would a new Queen be born right before she died? What about the baby Gabbits? Do you think Gabbit lungs will continue to be used for Glukkon lung transplants?
I think it would be cool to have the battle continue between Gabbits and Glukkons. But it would probably get boring after a while. And if Maggie died, and there were no Queen, the Glukkons would die out. Unless there were different colonies of Glukkons, kind of like different colonies of bees that have their own Queen. |
Great question. Well lets see what would happen...I suppose the Gluks may go through this great depression in Mudos and everything would crash...but if Mullock returned:fuzconf: ..what woudl happen then:fuzconf:
|
What would happen if Molluck turned out to be a female?
Actually, Maggie does die at the very end of the Quint, as Molluck kills her. |
If Molluck returned which I have no doubt in my mind he will. then that could be the solution to the economys renewal with the glukkens. The other glukkens might find Molluck useful again to bring the economy back. Eventhough he made the mistake in not killing Abe in the beginning. They can kill Molluck just for Maggies sake like a birthday gift for her and take his new franchise and say the hell with him we are strong thanks! That would be sadistic.
|
Actually Abe helps Molluck as Abe (Stupidly) trusts the Gluk and then once he is were Maggie is, the Gluk Mafia come along with some Sligs and kill the others. Abe does escape though by diving off into the egg pit thingy.
Believe me...i know...ive seen. |
Chris, that sounds like a plot to be saved for DBZ. Incredibly stupidly trusting hero that causes a downfall of humankind. or something.
|
Thats exactly what i told Lorne!! I said;
"Dad, that sounds like a plot to be saved for DBZ. Incredibly stupidly, trusting hero that causes a downfall of humankind. Or something." |
strange stroy, I hope it will be something else than that
|
If Molluck came back, she may make him "give" her his lungs(if in good condition). If not,she may die, depending if you got the good ending on MO.
|
No Glukkons have good lungs if they smoke all the time.
|
Remember Maggie is on life support at the end of MO, but Jacob that is an interesting plot, the hero helps the villian, quite interesting.
|
But she can't stay on life support forever can she? I mean, they have to cut off life-support sometime.
|
Yea if she gets much weaker than she is now right? I figure if the Magog doesent come through with transplanting Maggies lungs the entire Magog Cartel is doomed. The only way that Lady Margret can save her race is that she gives birth to another queen or possibly use Molluck for reviveing the Magog somehow then killing him and giveing birth to a new queen and destroying Abe and company. I can see an adventure where you have to find Margrets queen egg and dispose of it before it hatches. That would be interesting. exploreing the Hall of Larva for the queen egg.
|
She will probably get lungs from another Glukkon, maybe Molluck perhaps, or a lowly Glukkon Pud, I doubt they would kill maggie off, until maybe the end.
|
Yes Maggie is on life support and she'll be on it for awhile but whose to say that a Gabbits lungs are the only kind they use to make transplants. Keep in mind that Gabbit lungs are one of the best and also one of the best for using on different speices but that dosn't mean that their aren't other suitable lungs out thier, prehaps even better!

It probably works different in Oddworld but with bees and ants, all the 'workers' are female but sterile and if the hive needs a new queen they just feed a new-born worker royal jelly and it turns into a queen. There are also males (known as drones) that hang around doing nothing until the queen wants a shag (I think that happens every spring, or maybe queens only want it once in their lives, I'm not sure). So maybe there are drone Glukkons that just lounge around Maggie's palace eating Scrab cakes and getting in the way of business
|
i think it cudd be cool if sumthin wer to happen to Maggie on purpose (such as perhaps Mullock pullin her lug), and then Mullok cud come wile all gluks wer in despair and they pledge their leedership to him, i cudd just picture him sayin "I'm you're leader now!! Now lets go find that bastard Abe" and Mullock, bein 1 of da most ruthless Gluks ever, tries to wipe out all nature off f Mudos (or possibly Oddworld) and turn em into tasty snacks
|
Thats a idea but i think it might happen differently...but i dont want to guess:lol:

Of course I don't believe it, but why did he say it? I reckon that Mullock should come back with an army of cast aside Gluks and Sligs and stuff and storm Margarat's house thing and Mullock should pull the plug on her. Because what would it matter to him if the Glukkons die out? I heard they only think of themselves anyway. And then he should wipe out all the wild life and natives and any industrials who oppose him and kill Abe. Read any story I have ever written and you will see I say that because I believe in the main character always dying. It's stylish and it gets rid of annoying people asking for sequals. |

going back to the idea of molluck pulling maggie's plug he still would probally get killed because there is some unfinished buisness to do with molluck!
|
I guess if Maggie actually did die then the glukks would die out as well, who knows how long they would survive when they're all smokin' all the time? Nasty creatures... but if Maggie in any ways "gave birth" to another Glukk qeen then I guess there might be a light of hope in them Glukks eyes
Q: What's DBZ anyhow? |
Dragonball Z, the anime :P.
Maybe Lorne just accidentily screwed up his own story line. But since I don't think he would let that happen, I guess she either finds her longs elsewhere, or she dies and the glukkon race slowly starts to get extinct. |
To assume the Glukkon's would die out without Maggie is to assume that Maggie is over a mellenia old.
I would think that things operate with Glukkons and their queens much as they do in the insect world of Earth, in which new queens are created to replace the deceased. It's improbable that Maggie would have been the only Glukkon queen for so long, she's merely the replacement of their former - hell, even if she were the only ever available Glukkon queen, it would mean their entire species was doomed to fail from the beginning. Everything dies, after all. |
Wow a 2 years old topic!
I think there are other Glukkon Queens out there. I mean it won't be possible for a spiecie to survive if there's only one mother for them all. I don't realy know how things work on Oddworld but they maybe have one queen per continent. And when they are about to die they can give birth to another queen. or then an mud/gluk egg can be treated specially by other worker class members of their spiecie and then develop into a Queen model. I can allready see a bunch of muds making incantations around a Mud Egg |
It has to assumed that new queens can be born. The only question is whether the current queen has to give birth to a special one or lay a special egg, or whether normal young/eggs can be treated in an equivalent of royal jelly, as suggested by Xav.
However, we may never have to find out. Maggie could stay on life support, or she could have a successful transplant from a Gabbit … or another Glukkon. |

Edit: Woah, this topic is two yearls old. I had thought that Jacob had returned or something. |
