      Seems to me that if something like the java-based Oddchat is not working, you either have a firewall such as Norton Personal Firewall, Norton Internet Security, McAfee Personal Firewall, ZoneAlarm, or other such installed on your computer.
      The first thing I would check is the Java settings in your browser. If you are using Internet Explorer, click "Tools", and then "Internet Options". Click the "Security" tab at the top. Near the bottom, you will see a box that says "Security level for this zone." Click the "Custom Level" button. Scroll down the list to "Microsoft VM / Java Permissions" and make sure that "Disable Java" is not selected. I recommend "High security" or "Medium security". Click OK on all the windows, and then try again! |
