Ick...

Apparently, all the following are scientifcally verified (how they find this stuff out, I've no idea):

- During an hour's swimming at a municipal pool you will ingest 1 - 1.5 litres of urine.

- In an average day your hands will have come into indirect contact with 15 penises (touching door handles etc.)

- An average persons yearly fast food intake will contain 12 pubic hairs (yet another reason to boycott McDonald's).

- In a year you will have swallowed 14 insects... while you slept!

- Annually you will shake hands with 11 women who have recently masturbated and failed to wash their hands.

- Annually you will shake hands with 6 men who have recently masturbated and failed to wash their hands.

- In a lifetime 22 workmen will have examined the contents of your dirty linen basket.

- At an average wedding reception you have a 1/100 chance of getting a cold sore from one of the guests.

- Daily you will breath in 1 litre of other peoples' farts.

- Sharing a bag of crisps with a friend gives you a 10% chance of ingesting a small amount of their faeces.

- In every glass of water you drink, one molecule of that will have passed through Oliver Cromwell's bladder (thanks to Tom for finding that one out).

- In the United States, a chocolate bar may legally contain up to 1.5 rodent hairs.

I'm sure you've read e-tales, but for what it's worth:

- The average chocolate bar has 8 insects' legs in it.

- The average human eats 8 spiders in their lifetime at night.

Did Oliver Cromwell drink a particularly impressive amount of water in his life, or is he just a random entity?

I'm pretty sure it's random.

And actually, I found that Oliver Cromwell one in Unweaving the Rainbow.

You mean there's some weirdo out there going around wiping his knob on door handles? How nice...

Is this including or not including any accidentally ingested during oral sex?

I'm very surprised that it is this way round...

So was I. It's possible that women in fact do it more than men; men just seem to be less uptight about talking about it.

I was more surprised at women not washing their hands...

I've shaken hands with about one person this year and she was a woman. What are the odds she didn't wash her hands...:S

I really hope she did because she shook hands with everybody who got a certificate of some sort that evening... A couple of hundred people...:o

Yes scientists don't have anything better to do than to look stuff up like this. Boy I'm so glad that they decided to study this instead of trying to cure diseases. And to think Taxpayers money goes towards this study.
