Okay, what's the deal with Coloured Cheese?
 

This has been bugging me for a while. You know how cheese-making companies sometimes add Annatto(sp) to their cheese, in order to make it orange, yeah?

Well, what I want to know is: Why? How does that help them? The only way I can see is if it helped them to make more money, which would only happen if people would be more likely to buy orange-coloured cheese than cheese-coloured cheese.

I don't see how that works. Why would anyone find cheese more pleasing if it were orange rather than cheese-coloured? I personally find orange cheese repulsive, and would far rather eat natural-looking cheese.

I can go for a change...unless it's green then you won't know it's I dunno..mold or someone sneezed into it. lol. If they need taste testers..I am in all the way! OH YEAH!

People would buy anything. I mean, we would buy pills to lose weight (because we are lazy) and we can lose weight by eating right and exercise.

Edit: Oh yeah, I am alittle of lactose intolerate I forgot to tell ya. (just a touch alittle cheese won't hurt:stare: )

I could care less, although when making a ham and cheese sandwich I do enjoy knowing which side has the "American" cheese and the "Swiss" cheese. Long story, it involves eating a sandwhich, and pointlessly choosing which side to have on the bottom. No, I will not switch to eating sanwiches taco style.

Well, why don't they just use food coloring dye?
The could make yellow, blue, purple, green, all sorts of colors.
I really don't like "American" cheese unless its sharper than a ginsu knife and whiter than a Scotsman.
My favorite cheese however is pepper jack. I say stop eating funky colored American cheese and go with pepper jack. Its "cheese colored" and tastes better.

Actually, they think they would probably try to jip us for our money. It taste like regular cheese but it is just colored cheese and people would be like, why should I spend money on this colored cheese and it taste like normal cheese? What's the use of colorful cheese? Just for decoration?

I don't really care what color cheese it is, I like cheese and there's no color that will stop me from consuming it. Orange cheese, yellow cheese, white cheese, Ect. It's all the same to me, unless it's like a moldy color or something, cause it probobly is mold:sick: :sick: :sick: YUCK!!!!!

I can see if those colored cheeses had some kind of flavor to them.

Red: Strawberry or raspberry or cherry
green: lime or mold
orange: oragne
yellow: lemon

Hmmm, once you think about it, they have flavored and colored cream cheese and it didn't taste so bad. But, cream cheese is different from regular American cheese.
