AREA 2 Concert in Camden, NJ
I don't know if anyone cares but I just love talking about stuff like this and I would like to know if anyone else was there or if anyone is going to future stops in the tour. I arrived at the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ just as the opening act, a band called Ash was finishing up. After a break in which these weirdos tried to give away free all-terrain skateboards to the "craziest" audience members. Anyway, most of the audience paid no mind to these weirdos. After that, the Blue Man Group hit the stage. They were awesome. Their instruments were marvelous. Drumming on paint shooting percussion instruments and launching streamers, they were quite a show. Next, Busta Rhymes went on and promoted his new album, Genesis. I'm not familiar with hip hop but Busta was entertaining to watch. He had a lot of energy and chugged beer on stage, which was pretty funny. He then passed the beer around the front row of the audience and had them drink it. After another break and ridiculous $4.50 Snapple, David Bowie came on the stage to a tremendous applause. Bowie performed a great deal of songs, both old and new while looking as cool and hip as ever, even at age 55. The entire audience was on its feet yelling for an encore waving cigarette lighters when he left. We got one. Bowie came back out and the audience roared in applause. Although I hated to see the performance end after only about fifty minutes to an hour, I anxiously awaited for Moby to come out to play the next set. Moby was awesome, darting around left and right on the stage even in the steamy, hot weather. He was funny, too stopping numerously between songs to make a funny remark, usually putting himself down in some way. (He shouldn't be so hard on himself, he's a very talented musician.) The light show that accompanied his act was also very impressive, even though it probably damaged my sight. He also had a really cute bass player. (I go for punk-rocker girls in leather. That's just me.) Anyhow, I had a great time and if the AREA 2 tour comes to a city near you, you should definitely go. Thanks for reading this long rant. 'Preciate it!
