Are Hackers Dangerous?
Im not. You decide though if they are.

You get the odd few that are, some are wankers, some are just Geeks with no-life that should be boiled. I dont mind Hackers though, you can encourage them to hack some guys PC just so you can get revenge...Heh, heh, heh. Yeh, so some can be helpful...most are tossers though.

Where am I? Oh here. Do you know how hard it was to resist voting for that?!!!!!!! I said that it depends, my friend Brian is a hacker, his brother tried hacking into the Russian Military computer though, worked for the first 2 minutes until the Srg. logged on and somehow saw that he was trying to hack in. Got an instant message from him to stop it. Never said anything after-wards. Weird. I have strange friends. One of them is a person called me.

I've got a firewall, so I'm protected against hackers, but It really does depend. Most hackers are just college/university students who are testing out/having fun with thier abilities. However, some hackers are evil ass-holes, who will delete your files or put a trojon or Virus on your computer.

Hold up...
No seriously...where am I?

All '1337 h4ckerz' or whatever should be put to death slowly and painfully. In general, I don't have a problem with most hackers. If they just want to hack into a government system or bypass annoying things put on school computers then I don't mind (I have an anacdote about that*). But if they maliciously make viruses then they should also be put to death in the same way as the '1337 d00dz'.
* Here's the anacdote: I once gained access to the C drive (anybody could do it - you just need to know the 'about:' protocall in IE) on the school PCs so I could send an instant message to someone in the same room - just for fun. I used the winpopup application in the windows directory - all the PCs are on a network. Anyway, we sent a few messages until the ovelty wore off. Later on, I find myself being told off by the ICT administrator because she had hired someone to come into school to install some new application. It turns out that us sending messages to each other caused some problem that took this hired expert £300 (or was it £3,000? I forget...) to fix. As far as I can remember since then (this was quite early in my first year in that school, mind) every time the network has been maintained, they've made the PCs inaccessable. And just think about it. If I hadn't *giggles* made the network crash that day, they may still be leaving the PCs accessable to anybody to mess up the network maintenance. |

Some hackers are harmless they just check what you do and then go over to watch another computer. But some of them are people who just want to destroy as much as they can!
My computer was hacked a time ago, he/she plant a virus, my computer crashed and so was it with that. All hackers should be punished, even if they just check on your computer. |
hackers depends. I don't like em beacause the other day someone tried hacking into my stuff :(

Picture the situation. You're on the way back from a nightclub, you're quite drunk, and you take the wrong route home. You still know vaguely where you are, but to get home, you have to go through a nasty neighbourhood. All of a sudden, in a dark alley, a figure leaps out at you.
"Oh no!", you cry, "A Hacker!" Or maybe not. Dangerous? Come on, what exactly are they going to do to you? If I were a top secret government agency then yes, maybe I would think Hackers were dangerous. As it is, I laugh in the face of those nerds... |
Omg. One time. This dude. He, like, hax0red me and my friend. And. It sucked. We had to, like, call AOHell and say: "HAX0R!". Yeah. It reall did suck dude, seriously. He got our passw0rds.
