If you hate McDonald's, this thread's for you!

As seen in my profile, I, to put it simply, hate McDonald's. For many reasons. Since many people like meat, I will not go into animal welfare reasons, but still there are many reasons to hate this wicked, wicked restaurant. First off, for people who like meat, I sort of respect that (I like for people to respect that I don't like meat), but have you ever taken yourself out of the happy atmosphere, removed the bun and fixings and actually cut up the patty and looked inside? Clear your pallette with water. I defy you to eat the whole thing. I triple dog dare you! Go on, enjoy that happy, fun, yummy burger. Secondly, and just as important, they corrupt our minds and especially children's minds by causing them to think those sickening steamers they try to pass of as food are not only safe for human consumption, but actually GOOD. Many people that could have been productive forward-thinking individuals have had their mind and body poisoned by this garbage! Look at the state of public health. In America, The most virulent disease going around is obesity! I'm not talking about being pleasingly plump. I wouldn't trust a skinny cook. Being a little pudgy is ok. I mean dangerously fat! Congestive heart failure is the #1 killer in the U.S. Surprise, surprise, huh? Upwards of 40 grams of fat in a Big Mac! Round it off with a large fries, fried in 6-month-old oil, and you've already had too much for the day! This is fine and dandy if you're a marathon runner, but so many McDonald's patrons, well aren't. I don't claim to be an image of perfect health, but many people I see today make me ashamed to be an American. (As if Hiroshima, the death penalty, national stupidity, and the fact that I'm living in a confederation of skanks weren't enough.) Frankly, I think it's gone too far.
But there's hope. If we all work together, I think we can take 'em down. Even if we don't, we can dream, can't we? So whaddya say? Are you with me? I would love to hear all responses, for and against. I will explain how when I find some people that agree with me. In closing, I would like to thank you for your time and consideration. May Odd be with you. Always.

Wolfpac 07-16-2002 07:55 AM

Well it looks like someone works at KFC.

But I do take away McDonalds. I really don't like eating in. But yeah, I've looked at a Burger, and I still want to eat it. But maybe Australia has better burgers.

But I have a better theory as to why so many people are overweight. And the fact that they don't get out anymore. Kids would rather play with their Computer games rather than go out and play. Kids would rather watch hours of T.V instead of having fun with there mates. Granted, any take away is bad for you, but if you have it 5 times a week, you are going to be overweight. I think that the electronic age is more reasonable for kids being overweight, than junk food

But I do think Ronald is Evil though

Sl'askia 07-16-2002 09:18 AM

Even as a meat eater I dispise McDonalds (or...as my family tends to call them, McPlastic Burger). The burgers taste like plastic and cardboard. I can't say how their salads are...as I am not a salad person....their fries and shakes used to be good...but even those have gone down the tubes...

paramiteabe 07-16-2002 10:15 AM

I too am a meat eater and I prefer Subway myself but you are right with Mcdonalds. You will be very surprise on how much sh** there is in those burgers it's disgusting. It's scary! It's preservitives that make it very un healthy plus all the caleries and fat. I used to like it but now I prefer home made stuff. If anything is healthy, it is stuff you make from home because you know what you are putting in it and you know what you are eating. If I had a choice in what kind of burger I want, well I would make a home made burger. And If I went to a fast food place which I don't do too often, only when I am working 9 hours and I have an hour lunch break, it would most likely be Subway. Besides home made stuff taste a hell of a lot better too.

Plus eating home made stuff you save a hell of a lot of money and I prefer that over spending it. People who are alweys going to fast food joints like Mcdonalds will most likely lose their money just as fast as they earned it. For me I don't think it's worth it to lose money like that especally over something as bad as Mcdonalds. And yes Ronald Mcdonald is evil. He minipulates little children to eat his poisonous Happy Meals! Think of it, every time you drive by a Mcdonalds you see that sign 1 billion served. Well that means 1 billion people have been cheated out of money and most importantly health. They just took awey that part and added the word "served".

Down with Mcdonalds!:smokin:

It is good to see a positive response. Paramiteabe, in re to the "Billions served" thing, in the U.S. there is a program goin around called "McVegan: Billions and Billions Saved. And by the way I work at the sno-cone place. It's fat free!:D As seen in my profile, I run an organization against McDonald's, and I thought some fellow haters would want to start branch offices and work together around the world. I do agree with you wolfpac, lack of excercise is a big problem. But it's much easier to be active when you're eating real food.

Oddsville 07-16-2002 02:03 PM

Yes, Mcdonalds has gone down the tubes and Im addicted to Burger King! But recently I've been finding myself having a craving for Subway and I guess thats ok? Anyways, Im with ya on the take down of McDonalds!

quetzalcoatl 07-16-2002 02:40 PM

McDonalds food is like paramiteabe said: sh**. once a couple of guest here in (the cold country) sweden got purple burgers, when they were frozen in packages, the stod out in the melting sun (that day it was really hot to be sweden, almost 30 degrees) for hours. when the personel found it they didn't even look at the burgers, they just sold them even though they were purple (allright not quite purple but near). the next day, all who had eaten those burgers was very ill.

Is that how McDonalds treat guest? I don't want to eat there even if I got 50kr ( that would be around 5$).

But I admidd that I have eaten there after that

Mac the Janitor 07-16-2002 03:31 PM

Ah, McDonald's.

The place where screaming, drooling overweight kiddies come to stuff their faces with horribly greased and fattened foods and get cheap toys.

I detest MickyD's. Their food is awful, their mascot is creepy, and their hygiene is horrendous. I prefer Subway, Baja Fresh and Souper Salad, but sometimes I stoop low enough to go to Burger King. Eh, at least it's not as bad as McCrap Shack...

Edo 07-16-2002 03:57 PM

So who's interested in becoming branch heads of local AMCs? Corps in Sweden, UK, Australia, Around the US, and all over the world would help us establish a presence McD's can't ignore!

Statikk HDM 07-16-2002 04:53 PM

I don't like mcdonalds at all. When I ask for sauce for my chicken nuggets or fajitas, they never listen to me and I never get sauce. There special sauce looks like ejaculation and tastes nasty. Not only that the manage to put it on a lot of hamburgers. Big and tasty? More like big and nasty. Their fish sanwhiches suck. They screw your orders up. They are rude. They never ask me if I want fries. Aren't they required to do that by law? Basically the workers are rude lazy jackasses who don't do their jobs correctly. Also, they don't treat their animals right before they kill them. Mcdonalds sucks. Long live burger king! BK for you! Yeah baby!

ZombieX 07-16-2002 06:27 PM

McDonald's sucks. I could list the things I don't like, but it's easier to fit in the things I do like:
erm..
aahh..
I'm stuck. Any suggestions? I'm feeling sick.

Wil 07-16-2002 06:35 PM

McDonald's - one of the reoccuring topics of the Oddworld Forums' Off-Topic. I myself avoid fast food outlets all together. If Ravi gives me a 20% off Burger King voucher it usually decomposes in my pocket. But really do hate McDonald's.

Sadly, while I'd love to support a cause like this, I don't want to become a 'branch head', it sounds like too much responsibility. Plus I'm too young.

Oh well.

ZombieX 07-16-2002 06:38 PM

Why go to McD's anyhow. Long queues, a pile of shite to eat and off home again.

When they have long queues they play music fast - people eat to the music, it gets them out quicker. When there are few customers they play it slow to make it look like McD's is popular.

Useless fact of the day.

Edo 07-16-2002 06:43 PM

Don't insult yourself, max. It's not hard. All you have to do, to make a difference, is get your friends and you to not eat at McDonald's, and maybe put some anti-Mcd's sentiment in your signature. Maybe make a name for it. I'm not about to exclude anybody due to age. Everybody has to eat, so try to ensure people your age don't do so at McDonald's.
Suggestions:
Hell no, Ronald must go!
McDonald's is sh*t, Oddworld is it!
McDonald's Sucks

You're as old as I am anyway.

ZombieX 07-16-2002 06:48 PM

Why try to stop everyone else going? If they want to that's their problem.

Edo 07-16-2002 06:56 PM

I meant people in whom a hate for MDs could be instilled. Children are already a bit untrusting of clowns, with a little nudging they could be pushed to hate the Killer Klown. But you're right, I'm not in the business of preaching or infringing on anyone's rights.

Yeah, I totally agree. They aren't hurting anyone else. All they're doing is slowly turning themselves in to a pile of lard.

Don't insult yourself, max.
But it's so easy!

Still, I do make it clear to anyone when such a subject is raised that I am anti-plastic food. I guess I'm just not spirited enough to do anything that could change society. Still, I'll see what I can do.

:D Iremember when the Forums were such a small community, Glukkon Danial and I were really surprised and excited when it turned out I was just two days younger than him. But that's off-topic.

Edo 07-16-2002 07:21 PM

Well, seeing as how this is off-topic land......
Anyone else have any bright ideas? If anyone needs advice, please post here too.

Majic 07-16-2002 08:27 PM

Sadly, my parents think McDonalds is a good deal or something. It takes crappy, it looks evn worse, and they have the worst mascott. Even more theres a Subway right across from where my McDOnalds is. But my parents hate Subway, I have no clue why. I usualy only eat 1 meal a day, anyways. I sleep through breakfest, lunch is... whatever kind of snack I can find, and dinner is whatever my mom can make or bring home. I could care less about McDonalds, Gurger King, Wendy's, and other crappy places. All I want is a vanilla coke and a sub to last through the day... Sadly though, I would never be able to find enough supporters. Hardly anyone is even responding to a home depot being built right next to a park surrounded by houses and a small shopping area. Plus, I am rather young anyways....

Edo 07-16-2002 08:45 PM

You're old enough as long as you're A)Not anencephalic and B)Able to reason. You can start a resistance with people in your grade or whatever. It's up to you. Youth is no excuse.

Majic 07-16-2002 08:48 PM

Sadly, most people I know seem to like McDonalds... Its sad, its sick. Hm, I shall have to see what I can do.

paramiteabe 07-16-2002 10:39 PM

This is nuts I think Mcdonalds is becoming more and more like a glukken industry on Oddworld. It's funny there are like 4 Mcdonalds where I live in the same area. There everywhere. First thing I see when I go somewhere is a Mcdonalds hehe! It seems that this world is being covered by Mcdonalds run to the hills I tell ya run! MUHAHAHAHA!

Majic 07-16-2002 10:46 PM

The future of McDonlds... 1 on each corner at an intersection, replacing the common gas stations by serving gas also, half of which have the Wal Mart connected to it.

Armed Slig 07-17-2002 12:47 AM

Hate McDonalds. Like their pie. Their pie is the shiznit.

oddling 07-17-2002 01:19 AM

I hate Mcdonalds! They are tapping into the minds of children everywhere and turning them into burger-zombies! I remember in 2nd grade we had Ronald Mcdonald, that horrible clown come to school and do a little play thingy about carreers and at the end he said "Remember kids you can be anyone you want to be, even a Mcdonalds worker!" Seriously! He said that! Sure we go out to Taco Bell every Saturday for lunch but thats okay, they don't hypnotize you into going there. I think Mcdonalds has an extreme similarity to Rupture Farms, it kills animals, it hypnotizes you into going there, it's dirty, and it's just down right evil!!!!!! And the emmployees could care less about you, one time we went to Mcdonalds to get icecream cause Ritas was closed, so I got a hot fudge sundae, this snotty teen is yapping on her cell phone probably to her boyfriend, while she is making my sundae, I sit down, take one bit out of it, and it's horrible! Guess why it tasted horrible, she put on barbaque sauce instead of hot fudge! I went up to her, told her what she did, yelled at me for interupting her on her cell phone and told me to wait, so I did, she hung up and said "This better be good you little twerp!" I said it was important and told her what she did, I then asked for another sundae and she told me I had to pay! We then told the manager and she got fired, but still, goes to show you how 'cheerful' Mcdonalds staff is.

Oddling l:c l

Majic 07-17-2002 01:42 AM

Wow Oddling, bit extreme there eh? Anyways, the staff is worse in Texas... All the workers are hispanics (no racism implied) who really couldn't work any where else. Sadly the burgers aren't neat, plus you can't understand them. You order, they confirm it, and you hope they got it right. One time a person in front of me ordered in Spanish... I was after him, and had to ask 3 times what the oder taker person asked. It turned out to be "What kind of drink do you want." :|

Edo 07-17-2002 01:47 AM

McDonald's does have disturbing similarities to the Magog Cartel. And maybe Soylent Corp. You know they prevent their workers from forming unions to get fair treatment, not that they deserve it. But they fire labor organizers. They really should die...(hums a happy tune). This unfairness to workers causes a horrific work ethic that causes poor service. But of couse that doesn't cause the unwashed masses to stop eating there. Or take a chunk out of their 35 Billion $ (~15 Billion Pounds Sterling) Bank account. Anyone interested in info should check McSpotlight and F*ckMcDonald's.co.uk (w/o the asterix, no link b/c the program auto-censors the url.)
I shudder to think of the rupture inherent to MCDs. They kill millions, and clearcut millions of acres of rainforest. I say we bring down a little McHell on these despotic masters of the corporate "food" world!
Btw Majic, my friends (a group I hope you all become a part of) and I agree that people like your parents are hooked early. In later life, they remember the good experience they had there as children. But its all McShit, isn't it my friends?

oddling 07-17-2002 03:09 AM

Yah! It is all Mcshit! You know what, I bet you Mcdonalds kills as many people a year as tobacco companies do! We should have Mcdonalds cheeseburgers called a drug cause do you know how much fat is in there?! After a while that makes you rolley and polley (And not those little bugs that curl up in balls, I meen FAT) and gives you heart attacks!
