Poor mud.

http://www.oddworld.com/universe/nat...ll_prod06.html

What is whrong with this poor mudokon! What happend to him!? Are this things like vines that grow into living things to help build and gather energy quicker!?
That's what I think.

VykerSawBones 07-07-2002 12:13 PM

im not sure but i think this mudokon is in some sort of creature and giving it energy probably cause it got hurt or something not sure.....

Sl'askia 07-07-2002 12:56 PM

Its a statue, showing signs of nature reclaiming it as part of itself....nothing more.

VykerSawBones 07-07-2002 02:10 PM

oh.......

Oddsville 07-07-2002 02:36 PM

Yep thats just a really old Mud statue in Monsiac Lines. Probably just for religous porpouses sience its praying.

Xavier 07-07-2002 04:40 PM

there are lots of statues of creatures of oddworld around, especialy in Temples, this one was a concept for monsaic, plus a bit plants on it.

TheKhanzumer 07-07-2002 08:04 PM

I don't think that is a statue. Perhaps it is a native mudokon so in touch with the spooce (a spiritual energy that binds all living things) that it has given up it's physical vessel. Or maybe it is a plant which has been masterfully grown in the shape of a mudokon.

Sl'askia 07-07-2002 10:12 PM

No...its a statue...if you look on the right side of a pic you see a normal mud standing there with a spear, much smaller then the statue.

TheKhanzumer 07-08-2002 12:44 AM

Here is another picture of the same concept. This one looks more statuelike than the other.

I still don't think it is a stone statue though. That mudokon with a spear could be in the background. I could be wrong though, maybe Max knows something about this. It is probably nothing more than a concept that never got anywhere.

Xavier 07-08-2002 04:05 AM

He can't be in the baground (not same light effect)
it's maybe a statue made from mud or something like that

Kaimana 07-08-2002 04:16 AM

I think its a statue. it looks like it has been there for ages.

Wil 07-08-2002 07:26 AM

Actually, that Mud is in the foreground, or at least is closer than the statue.

I think it's just a statue, although not necessarily a stone one. I don't really think it's important, but if you tied me to a chair and threatened to tickle me feet I'd guess either stone or some hard woody part of a plant.

molluck2 07-08-2002 01:44 PM

maybe this statue is covered with skin or something

TheKhanzumer 07-08-2002 09:15 PM

You guys are right, that little mudokon isn't in the background. That means that my wierd theory is wrong. The "poor mud" is just a statue. I think it was probably grown that shape instead of sculpted/carved though. It looks like a living plant.

Xavier 07-09-2002 04:13 AM

can be, you can do so much with a bit meditation and magic.
can be a sign that mudokons are realy close of the nature

Pilot 07-10-2002 11:35 PM

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Yes, it is a statue. I've seen this production art up at OWI, and although I forget what the captions are, it is a native Mudokon statue.

No, there's just a very good hedge-trimmer around, lol.

Kaimana 07-11-2002 05:10 AM

It is very much a statue a very mystical and spiritual one that expresses Mudokon religion and there tie with nature.

hmmm okay, so the problem is solved, it is a statue, not a plant, not a giant mudokon

Doesn't your pledge of confidentiality prevent you from telling us stuff like that? Just how far does your vow of secrecy extend?
