do you believe that there are still some meeches left?

our spew is your brew

Xavier 07-05-2002 01:15 PM

I think there are. But I dunno where
I can tell you some are still frozen in vykker instalations for future experiments

molluck2 07-05-2002 01:20 PM

really??why haven't those idiots told me that?
i'm their boss for crying out loud!!
argh,i'm so mad!

Xavier 07-05-2002 01:23 PM

sorry but glukkons are not the vykkers bosses.
Glukkons and vykkers sometimes work togethere but have differents industies

the glukkons have the Magog Cartel
and the vykkers have the Vykker Coglomeration.

not the same thing

molluck2 07-05-2002 01:28 PM

yeah, but i've made a deal with those guys!

Mac the Janitor 07-05-2002 03:05 PM

Hmph.

Back to the topic,

I think there are Meeches somewhere on Oddworld. If there wasn't any left, there would be no need to introduce them in AO.

Wil 07-05-2002 05:21 PM

For all those that do not have the time to sift through Oddworld Forum's past topics (understandable, given the ammount of rubbish which is creeping into General Discussion), you will find it of interest that we will be seeing Meeches some time in the future, see their way of life and hear their story. Whether it's a flashpack or a prequel-type thing is unknown, and this might not even take place in the Oddworld Quintology. Bear in mind that an early idea for Hand of Odd was that it took place in Oddworld's past.

We really should create an FAQ about all this stuff.

Oddsville 07-05-2002 05:25 PM

Thats a good idea Max we should do that. You me and some of the others could answer them. I also agree that there have been alot of usless topics latley (none of Kaimanas:fuzsmile: ). *sigh what are the fourms coming to*.

Kaimana 07-05-2002 05:31 PM

Thanks Oddsville. Maybe i should try to send these to the other pages by making some good topics that can be very disputible.

Mac the Janitor 07-05-2002 05:32 PM

Yes, like an Oddworld FAQ. That's a good idea.

I agree with you, Oddsville. Kaimana is one of the very few decent newbies who is supportive and actively participates in the forums. Most of the others don't do much, and are only here for about a week.

Kaimana 07-05-2002 05:34 PM

Thank you Mac. should i make a good topic that can be very disputeble.:fuzconf:

General Drippik 07-05-2002 08:13 PM

Yes! Hail to Kaimana! I picked yes.

Kaimana 07-05-2002 08:57 PM

Ok now thats enough. but thankyou guys for being so kind.

Alcar 07-05-2002 09:23 PM

Hmmm, Max when will you have your Oddworld Encyclopedia up and ready? That is like an Oddworld FAQ.

Other than that, if you do go ahead with an Oddworld FAQ idea, i'd be happy to help, in anyway I can.

honestly i think it would be more fun if they really never did show any more meeches. i know everyone loves the idea of seeing more of an endangerd species remerge but i think it will not aid in the believability (no matter how "big" oddworld is). its almost like what they are trying to do with munch and the last 150 gabbits. so what if we dont see one more one legged species, we really already knew that this one was gone. it should stay that way. meech munchies were so good that they killed off a species, the end. i dont think cloning them is a good "excuse" to bring them back either. just let them be dead. (and if you really really STILL want to see one maybe they could program in a stuffed one in an exhibit or something at an interior museium looking level.) i really dont think they should bring them back even for a game. its so much better if they just kept making references to something we never ever get to see. (though flashbacks could be ok MAYBE)
for the sake of not repeating too many ideas and keeping the story kinda sad they should leave them as lost to the ages. its more epic that in the long run there will be imeasurable losses toward acheiveing their destinies.

just my preference leave em dead! :fuzsad: (sorry meeches)

Alcar 07-06-2002 02:56 AM

Woah, woah,

I just remembered, there are rumourmed to be meeches hidden away in a reserve, so that they can be breed back into the wild.

I think I saw a pic of a vykker standing in a door-way and above the door-way, there were a bunch of frozen creatures and one of them was a meech, so ther could still be meechs left frozen in some other vykkers labs somewhere.

that's what I'm talking about
*spend 10min to find the pic back*

thebomb372 07-06-2002 03:57 AM

which one is the meech

Xavier 07-06-2002 04:08 AM

well... you can see one here but I read somewhere vykkers had a frozen one.
strange it isn't in there

ODDBODD 07-06-2002 05:48 AM

i wonder how high a meech is, it would be cool if a meech is gigantic

Majic 07-06-2002 05:55 AM

I noticed a Gabbit I believe in that picture Xavier... Doesn't that mean that they aren't extinct? Interesting, they could have cloned that Gabbit and taken the lungs for one and sell them to Margret. Also, if they had one Meech, that wouldn't make sense. I'd think Meeches would produce sexualy, and there wouldn't be one of each sex, meaning no baby Meeches and when you take into account genetics, the Meeches would grow up to have larger weaknesses and be more vulnerable to shit. I think. So wouldn't the VYkkers have two? I honestly don't think its a frozen Meech queen (hence they are extinct)(supposidly).

ODDBODD 07-06-2002 06:28 AM

there are 3 gabbits in that picture (2 are the exact same)

Sydney 07-06-2002 07:13 AM

A while back there was a rumor about a pack of Meeches being discovered on a lost plateau, but the Glukkons scooped ‘em up and dumped ‘em into one of their hunting preserves. There may be more, but no one can say for sure.

Wil 07-06-2002 07:22 AM

Hello Sydney, welcome to General Discussion. You'll find a few interesting topics here, burried under all the rubble.

No, really, you've got to give it a goosey, it's really poor here.

I come here all the time. It's just that lately, I haven't seen many topics interesting enough to reply to.

sligster 07-06-2002 04:08 PM

What? I thought I saw a meech somewhere in there!

P.S. whats that sea horse-looking thing next to the vykker?

P.S.S. There are 4 gabbits.

Edit: I think thats the meech in the second to the top row.

Call me stupid, but how do we know that the creatures in these bottles are alive? They look more like corpses preserved in formaldehyde to me...

Mac the Janitor 07-06-2002 04:22 PM

Yeah, I agree. Some of the Gabbits have their heads twisted in unconfortable positions.

Majic 07-06-2002 04:49 PM

As far as I see it thats from the curve of the container. Still though, wouldn't the Vykkers still be able to clone them if they were dead? Hm...
