Games on oddworld
These mudokons, what do you reckon they do for fun? The natives anyway. They speak english, so they can talk to eachother. What sort of games would they play? What if they hed playstations, and there was a series called, "The Earth Quintology"? Like, a playstation game about a human. That'd be cool.
|
I saw abe playing playstation... in an advertising
I know they like to play cards |
I play the Oddworld games a lot, and my brother used to joke that Abe probably plays 'Anna's Odyssey', but I don't think it'd be 'cool' if the Oddworld creatures had console games, especially ones about humans.
It says on the official site that Sligs like to play cards and other betting and gambling games, but I didn't know that the Mudokons liked them. I'd imagine that native Muds have Elum races and showjumping, and possibly a form of Elum Polo (played on horseback on Earth). They probably have a ball game of sorts, like the Aztecs' Tlachtli. Abigail once said that Sligs might play some of the more violent hitting-balls-with-sticks type games, like Hockey or Shinty. I quite like that idea, but the more upper-class Sligs like Lulu's valet would probably play Lacrosse. I'd imagine the Sligs, and possibly the Muds, like Bowling or Skittles as well. If Oddworld has monster-truck events or demolition derbys, I'll bet the Sligs buy most of the tickets to those as well. We know that the Glukkons love casinos, and on the old version of the official site we were told that Aslik was a fan of Mudokon tossing. Emily once started a fic about native Glukkons, and she reckoned they'd play Reapsworth, which is like a giant version of darts, played with spears. |
something to not forget...
there are lot's of tv show for lazy people like: "Name That Trauma" |
:
|
Yes. He mentioned it in an interview about his autobiography (I, Aslik).
*sigh* The old site rocked... I tried looking for it on archive.org... but they don't have anything beyond the splash and what's new pages. |
how does that site works?
it looks intresting |
www.archive.org - type in a site that no longer exists and it'll show you lots of the old content that used to be there.
For several years, they've been archiving the net! (Lotsa terrabytes!) Someone on a WipEout board I visit found the old Pysgnosis site there, and I managed to grab lots of WipEout images off it. I tried typing in 'www.oddworld.com' hoping to find some of the old info, but to no avail. |
sounds nice...
but nothing works for me :( I think it's a brilliant idea |
Yeah, I treied it as well but to no avail. I think that there was something else in the web address to that site besides 'oddworld' but I can't remember.:fuzsad: :fuzblink:

games
in a greek advert i've seen abe play football
|
He he, really? What was it an advert for?
|
football?
I have to know more? when was it? what about? where can I find infos? |
u see abe and all the other mudokons in his team gathered round him(bigface is there as well, hes the goalie), abe tells them the strategy(in english) the whistle blows, abe gets the ball passed to him and he starts to run towards the opposite team(sligs) he starts dodging them he shoots and buts it top right corner
then it comes up a logo comes up advertising a greek drink |
Seriously? It sounds as though you're making it up.
What's the name of this drink? Does it have a website? |
honest to god i'm not making up, i think the drink was called raki and i will try and find a website about it for you
|
ahum... wasn't that drink called SoBe instead of raki?
|
I thought it was raki
|
at this moment I don't found anything about that drink on the internet.
but I'm still searching it exists: http://www.raki.com/ |
I would have thought it was advertising soBe aswell... Oh well. I seriously doubt they play football(soccer) on oddworld. And it's pretty obvious glukkons gamble. Everyone of them has a fortune 5 times as big as bill gates.

I don't think a Pud has so much money |
Whee!
Whoo-hoo! Success! I managed to find that interview with Aslik in archive.org. I misremembered, though; it's some extracts from his autobiography, not an interview.

|

Darn right it's official! It no loger exists on the site, but I (and probably Max as well) can remember when it existed.
I found some more good stuff... this is an advert for a Mudokon Tossing event: :
:
|
I remember that, I had it all printed out and saved with all the other stuff I printed so I could use it to brief up on my Oddworld knowledge whenever I needed to, but then I lost it.:fuzsad:
Hey, can you see if you can find the page on Bill? |
Yes, here it is:
:
|
Yep, I remember that page dearly. *Tears come to eyes* I remember when I first found that page, I was so excited. *Sigh* Bill's the greatest, thanks Middlesboogie!:fuzwink:

To get back on topic, here are some possible 'games' for those working in Cartelian offices:
Beating around the bush Jumping to conclusions Climbing the walls Swallowing your pride Passing the buck Throwing your weight around Dragging your heels Pushing your luck Making mountains out of molehills Hitting the nail on the head Wading through paperwork Bending over backwards Jumping on the bandwagon Balancing the books Running around in circles Tooting your own horn Climbing the ladder of success Pulling out the stops Adding fuel to the fire Wrapping it up at the day's end Opening a can of worms Putting your foot in your mouth Starting the ball rolling Going over the edge Being on the same page |
Okay Xavier, here is another one; the company policies of SoulStorm Brewery:
