Wheeee! Here they Be! The spooky cartoon versions of my friends, I mean.

Well, not all of them are my friends..some are just strangers I see on a regular basis...Now, before anyone says I ripped of Vasquez....I have been drawing people this way for around 6 years now....so there!
heh enjoy.

Oh yeah....My photo album is being weird, and it wouldn't let me resize any of the pics. If you're horribly curious about what I've written you'll have to save them and look in a photo viewing/editing program. Sorry.

Also, like I said...I was planning on doing some cartoon versions of some forum Members [Dyl, Morgan...and Danny]....if any of you don't want evil, spooky cartoon versions of you running around, please, let me know.

Oh, one more thing....I'm totally open to criticism...I crave it, in fact. If you can think of something I need to improve on, by all means, do tell me. Kindly, if possible. :)

Your work is great! I love your style! No it doesn't look like you ripped off Vasquez. I am just curious if you can only draw people from the slightly the left (all of those characters are facing that way). Could you draw me? Just draw a "normal" looking teenage guy. I'm pretty thin, wear mostly black clothes (flames and skulls are good too) and I usually have blond bangs that come down to my eyes (the rest of my hair is dark brown). If you do this that would be cool... and if you do could you draw me with the platypus I mentioned in your other topic?

Danny 06-16-2002 07:56 PM

Your friends are as weird as mine, Dave...

Disgruntled Intern 06-16-2002 08:42 PM

Hehe...thanks Danny!

Now...Khanzumer....I have never been really good at drawing people...so, I do what's easiest for me, which is drawing them at slight angles....They usually face left, not too sure why....But yeah, thanks for asking . :)

Okay...and about this pic of you....I don't suppose you have a pic of yourselfm do you? that would make things so much easier.....and to be perfectly honest, I assume you're speaking of a duck billed platypus, right? I've been toying around with the idea, and I think I may be on to something. Please, let me know what it is that you're looking for/leaning towards. Thanks.

Don't worry much about realizm, just draw a guy kind of like the very bottom one (the staring guy) with the details I gave. As for the duck-billed platypus... think rabid stuffed animal. The main thing is to feel free to do what you like. I personally don't like it when people ask me to draw something unless they give me a general idea which I can do what I want with. So make something shocking, off the wall and somewhat resembling my description. Have fun!

There aren't any other species of Platypi, are there?

Disgruntled Intern 06-17-2002 07:58 PM

Well, I can't say that I know too much about the mamilian fauna of australia, so I wasn't too sure. :)
Now reptiles, on the other hand...hehe..

TheKhanzumer 06-17-2002 08:35 PM

The duck-billed platypus, ornthorhyncus anatinus, is the only species of platypus that is not extinct. It is also a monotreme which makes it one of the only three egg-laying mammals (the other two are the two different species of echidna, or spiny anteater). The platypus's bill is sensitive to the electric currents given off by living things and it is one of the few poisonous mammals, the males having spurs on their hind legs. I knew all that from the top of my head and could write more but frankly I know that none of you care.

hehe, well for being right off the top of your head, it sounds exactly like the site I was just at, looking for pics. And aren't they Marsupials?

TheKhanzumer 06-17-2002 10:44 PM

No I don't believe they are marsupials because they don't keep their young in pouches. The eggs are laid in dens which the platypus mother digs along creeks. After the babies hatch they are cared for until they are old enough to fend for themselves. Platypi (or platypusses, both plurals are correct) don't have nipples, their milk is secreted from their skin and the babies suck it from the fur. They also have a surprisingly large amount of vocalizations, supposedly they sound like dogs but I've never heard one.

... ... ... I like platypusses, if you haven't already guessed that.

Disgruntled Intern 06-17-2002 11:00 PM

wow, sorry, the marsupial question was really stupid of me to ask.
Yeah, I've been reading about them. They sound like pretty neat little critters.

Joe the Intern 07-07-2002 04:55 AM

I like those! But I still await the cartoon version of myself...

Disgruntled Intern 07-07-2002 01:51 PM

Lies! No one can see them any longer!
I moved those pics to a different album, therefore the address I gave when I posted the pics is now invalid!
