Some more Munch Reviews

I put these up on my site yesterday, but no one else seems to have found them. They had just been added to the Oddworld press links section.

SciFi.com
Lost Hours
Xbox Evolved
Indonation

A couple of good reviews, and a couple of critical ones.

Why is there a difference between good reviews, and critical ones? On the whole, Munch's Oddyssey didn't introduce anything new to the 3D platformer that hasn't been done before (save the graphics). It was fun game, I won't deny that - but nothing exceptional. A seven at best.

1. Messiah handled possession/intrusion much better years ago. Sure, the game made you jump like a grasshopper, but when it did 3D possession right it was perfect.
2. The camera and controls within Soul Reaver cure the 'virtual idiot syndrome' better than MO ever did
3. AI is nonexistent.
4. Gameplay and (fantastic) cinematic story elements are completely detached. It's almost like the game's a tie-in with a separate movie. Half-Life, Grim Fandango, Max Payne and Giants gave you a better sense of what you were doing and why. The goal in MO was always to reach the other end of the level - what that achieved in terms of the story was irrelevant.
