The penny paradox
 

Well, if you find a penny and pick it up, you get good luck right? Well, don't you have to be lucky to find the penny? So, does the penny give luck, or symbolize it. You need luck to find the penny, but you don't get luck until the penny is found. And if you find the penny at night, is that extra luck because the penny is very hard to find? and if you found the penny would you get no luck because it isn't day, or do you get a carry over luck into the next day. If someone was really crazy and or superstitous they would hide pennys in obvious spots an find them.

First of all. Luck, is just a thing that happens. Somebody infront of you dropes a penny, walks away, you walk in that direction, is first one there and noticis the penny lying ther. Or it wouldent be luck right.

Okay. Let say that luck is a misticle force whom nowane can explane, k? Then probely the pennys force would draw a human to itself, like the ring in "Lords of The Ring", only with a good purpos in this case.

Or are you lucky to find a penny, when you could find a dollar.
Stupid penny.

I'd have said finding a tenner was luckier than finding a penny, but hey... ;)

How does it go?

"See a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck,
Give the penny to your friend, your good luck will never end.
See a penny, let it lay, no good luck will go your way..."

I prefer "see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have a penny..."

"...Unless you spend it."


I have a nice little saying: "Don't listen to Statikk"

But a more relavant one would be:
"See a penny, pick it up."

Note the lack of superstition in that saying.

I laugh, I found a 20 one time... And then I lost it in my room somewhere later on, bah. Maybe only pennies give you luck?

If you find a Penny and pick it up, you're not lucky, you're just a scrounger... :p

Either that or you're obsessed with cleaning up. *dryly* Afterall, it's metal, it'd take AGES to turn to nothing.

*stares* Now why didn't I think of that? Could it be because pennies are the most useless little bits of metal in the history of the world, ever? They gather in pockets and wallets and bags and stuff until you're staggering around under the weight of half a tonne of the damn things, and then, as shops don't like to accept you paying for stuff in bags and bags of coppers (well, heaven forbid that you might diddle them a couple of pennies...) you pay them all into the bank. Who give them back to the shops, who give you them all back one at a time, until you've accumulated the same amount, then you pay them back into the bank... ;)

(Of course, you can put them in charity jars...)
