Demonology
 

Anyone think this is a pile of shit or is there some truth behind it. I found a site which is dedicated to a bunch of Demons (72) and i was just wondering...did someone make this up or is there some truth behind it? What do you think?

On a lighter note (And to make this topic vaguely more interesting.), if you were to be a Demon what would you be/look like and what powers (If any.) would you have? I'll allow the peeps to answer this before i do...cos im tired and blah is taking over me.

Two powers, count 'em two. Electricity shooting coolness and the ability to turn into smoke. anyway, I don't rule demonology out(assuming this is the study in real old skool "I shall possess your body" Exorcist shiznit and not the worship of them.) Basically, it has happened, is happening now but no nearly at the same level.
Remember, Satan's greatest weapon is proving he doesn't exsist. Why work physically when the "logic" takes so many smart people and with so much prowess and finess. If I were Satan, the last thing I would do is go "Hey, everybody,there is a suupernatural! But let's no quibble over the whole hell-agony in flames jazz. Lets go possess people and look like total evil jerks so even more people will turn to God!" Seems a little counter productive.

Demonology is interesting and fun, but a load of bullshit all the same...

As for what I'd be, I'm gonna agree with what Marie's test thought I was, and say I'd be a Succubus... :D

What are 'Incubi' ? And 'Succubi' ?

I know possession to be possible, but I seriously doubt demons in the evil sense exist. There's bodyless souls on the astral plane, yea, so what? They're usually more busy (providing they have a "conscience" to work with, not all do) trying to integrate and seem normal.
*wouldn't like being just soul, would get depressed. Especially since: How the @!$& do you kill yourself as a soul?*

Oh, an exorcism is a load of bull. It'd be more effective if one tried to 'exorcise' a demon the same way you get rid of hiccups: give the person a scare. v_v

And Statikk: You're so right. Especially since according to God, 95% of all people on this planet are going to hell this way and that. Irresponsible, omniscient bastard ^_^
I doubt Satan needs to advertise. Actually, if I were Satan, I'd advertise for God, to get the mass of people off my ass.

Incubi and Succubi are demon-type things that come in the night and rape people. Incubi are male, Succubi are female. Very little more than that is specified...

Neike, you mentioned this before, so I have to ask: How do you "know" that possession is possible?

Well, I suppose it's still a type of believing. I can't say it happened to me, but it did happen to a friend of mine. And it's nothing bad, it just might leave people with a headache (then again, she's used to the astral plane... not sure if that's important here).

Of course you could argue she's pretending or something like that, but it's quite obvious why I don't and why I'm asking you to skip such lectures, nay? :)

Lawyers, door to door salesmen and arsehole judges are all Demons. They are 'Legion' they come from Hell, take over a body and are that person until the body dies. They then move on and on until the apocalypse comes were they can fight.

Demons mostly possess humans as they have access to basically anything. A Demon who has been in Hell for centuries and finally escapes will hunt down any human it can find. And attempt possession...however, if a Demon escapes after a couple of days/weeks/months/years of being in Hell...it will look for a more suitable host. Such as somebody rich or powerful. Only people who can see Demons are Priests who believe in their faith highly and true bible bashers or citizens who have faith in 'The Lord'.

So you automatically assume possession to make someone evil? I don't believe in evil, but that's aside the point.
1) What you're listing is a result of stupidity (not sure about the testing on animals bit, I'll muse about that one, but the others are).
2) If my friend tells the truth and/or I am not imagining everything I've experienced with and without her, "demons" aren't evil. Just different and often more like a victim than someone in charge.
Again assuming I am not imagining everything and my friend is a blatant lier (improbable), I have a demon friend (whom I've called Ijzenar). He's only essayed me about the emotional pain endured by him because he's not got a fliming body like me. *lol* Okay, I shouldn't laugh, it really upsets the fellow...

Yea, well, anyway, the whole point of this post, rendered down, is about "Possession does not neccessarily make one act evil". Or something.

Demons are evil, Angels are good. Demons are basically the bad creatures that have either got out of Hell or been dragged out via Ouija board. Angels rarely make appearences to human folk but the people who are good natured will...people who are good natured usually get turned into a source of enlightenment...such as a Guardian Angel by the higher powers. They may also come through via Ouija boards. However, some people who are good miss their calling and thus are stranded on the physical plane for a year...unless a Priest helps them.

A demon to me is anything bodiless with an ego. =P Because I don't think Xians like the idea of "ego", at least the last time I looked. Ego, instinct, carnal and all that stuff is 'evil' according to the bible, isn't it?
