A Finger on Sexuality

According to a recent study, finger length can often be an indication of someone's sexuality. The study suggests that in women, an index finger that is longer than the ring finger is indicative of a homosexual orientation.

In men, it's more complicated. There is no significant difference between the index and ring fingers in homosexual men to those of heterosexual men. It was determined however, that gay men with several older brothers almost always have a much longer ring finger, although it is normal for the ring finger to be longer in all men.

How do you measure up to this chart? Strangely, according to the graphic, I have the hands of a woman as my index finger is notably longer than my ring finger (which, I might add, is not indicative of homosexuality). I wonder what it means?

Well my ring finger is clearly longer than my index finger, so i don't know what it says about my sexuality.

It applies.

Creepy shit. It applies.

*is bi and has masculine hands* *w00ts* *w00ts!*

Scary stuff. Thanks for finding it, Sydney. *is going to pass the URL on in #dataclaw *

*looks at hands* nup...my index is shorter then my ring finger.
This study seems silly if ya ask me...its like they are trying their hardest to find a 'gay gene' so that when designer babies become the norm (heaven forbid) they can 'weed out' the gay ones...*grumble*

My ring finger is slightly longer than my index finger. However, accoarding to everyone at school, this means I am clearly masculine, because famous athletes have much longer ring fingers, a sign that they have high testosterone levels.

The changing-room gossip proves to be boulderdash once more.

EDIT: A fatal mistake in there, but I've smoothed out that crease.

What's the matter, Pinky? Your finger length betrays you? ;)

Hmm, my ring finger is longer than my index finger... I wonder if this is true... Crazy... I'm pretty sure I'm heterosexual, but I'm not totally sure. ;)

A problem, Pink? Are your fingers sending you to Hell?

I'm male and my fingres match the ones in the first picture, so I guess I'm an average male. I heard abotu this research a couple of years ago, and did my personal survey with about ten women, both hetero and homosexual. The survey proved to be very acurate (8 out of 10 had their fingers according to their sexuality. Weird, huh?

munchman 05-11-2002 10:44 PM

thats cool thanks, my ring finger is a little longer than my index

Majic 05-11-2002 11:20 PM

Hm, my ring finger is a lot longer than my index. That means, erm, I can be an athlete, I think my body fat though kinda counters that, but hm... I have a strange craze to participate in a thumb war now;)

Sydney, I didn't know it had anything to do with sexual preference, I thought it was only what gender you are... oh well. :) My index finger is longer by quite a bit, although I am hetrosexual as far as I know.

Doug 05-12-2002 01:09 PM

Keep your fingers off of my sexuality!

Hmm . . . um . . . er . . . sorry, wrong topic. :fuzconf:

What the hell, what hand is this. The left equals flaming gay man and the right indicates straight as an arrow.Either or, what difference does this make.

Danny 05-12-2002 06:33 PM

What the hell are you talking about, Stat? Nobody's even mentioned left or right hands...

For the record, my ring finger is considerably longer than my index finger, but it doesn't really matter, as the study didn't reveal anything about males...

It's so you're lulled into false security before they launch it at you. Mwahahahaha. ;)

Actually, didn't it say homo' males had a much shorter index finger than average males? I thought I read that. I might be wrong.

Well, my hands seem unbalanced. One side equals homo, and the other equals hetero.

Fazerina 05-13-2002 05:16 PM

I've always considered myself as a heterosexual, but if I think about the stuff I mentioned to Tom and Anna on MSN a few weeks ago, after I did that gay-o-meter-thing... I guess I'm not so straight after all.

Anyway, my index is much longer than the ring finger...

EDIT: Oo... I just did a SexTest on Sparks and it said I'll have sex with 17 peeps in my life time and that they'll all be female...
