I don't think it's been officially cancelled. Groening is currently thinking about ending The Simpsons, partly because he's pissed at Fox placing his series on hold. It's almost as bad as being cancelled; no budget, no airtime, but officially it still exists.

It was announced a few days ago on the AOL welcome screen that The Simpsons was not calling it quits anytime soon. It will be around for years to come Groening said.

Damn. I wanted it to be cancelled. The Simpsons have toally bombed this year. They haven't even elicited a chuckle except when bart stopped a dog from killing him with a book and said "Eat my short stories!" The simpsons have sucked since season 8, it is well past the time to put this turkey to pasture.

You know, I thought the same thing... At first. Then I thought about how millions of lunatic Simpsons fans would rise up, and go on an insane killing spree not unlike that of Charles Manson's. I was thinking "The Simpsons have gone mediocre.... Where are the parodies of pop culture?" then I just put that idea to rest, thinking about those angered Simpsons fans. So we should just keep quiet, and stay down.

A TRUE Simpsons fan wants the writing to be improved and heads to roll. To quote Groening when asked how many more years will the Simpsons continue he said "I always say two. Because it will take us one to really lose it and the second to run it into the ground" Well, folks the Simpsons have lost it, and the next season will be the one were the simpsons implode, exploing from the inside out and collapsing as a result of the writers patentl lack of "the funny" and their own mediocrity. The venerable show has one converse in the grave right now, mark my words...

I've watched Futurama a lot, but right now I have no idea when the show runs in germany, at what time, so I can't really check it out. Unless it's not the program anymore, here, either.
I used to watch a lot of Simpsons, too, but since I'm not that much into comedy in general, that's gone awry.

Really? I thought it was just on hold. One mighty majestic day Futurama would be shown again, uninterrupted by Nascar and baseball, the two most boring and stupid "sports" ever. So its canned. The agony! But what happens when Fox's lineup goes to hell? Simpsons on decline, MiTM becoming epic trash, the X files winding down... Well, at least Murdoch has his ridiculously shitty and chatty "news" station to bring in the dough.

Yeah. I heard on the news that The Simpsons was being cancelled, and I froze. The Simpsons?! CANCELED?! I was seriously scared. Then I went on the internet and saw an article where Matt Groening said that his words were twisted around by a British newspaper, and that Homer will be around for years to come...
