Now I'm really stuck!
 

I've been stuck in the same place for three days now. Its in Abe's Oddysey Stockyard P4 . When I exit the screen says E1P04C01
Anyway, it's where I'm up on a ledge with a slog below jumping at me. I chant to open the portal below. I throw rocks at the two bombs below and explode them. But then, when I try to run and roll and run to the ledge on the next screen I always get caught by the slog. I have tried many different timings and still I always get caught....I don't know what to do. Even if I do ever make it over there....I'll never make it back! The slog is too quick.

Is there some sort of trick to this?

Well, it should only have Abe's speed. If it's faster, then that's a bug. However, I do have a suggestion, though I am not sure if you have tried this yet: Try a running jump off the ledge. The slog should not start chasing you till you hit the ground, and you should be quite a bit infront of it. Do the same on the way back.

I know it took me eons to figure out things like timing, especially in the PC version, where a running jump seems to be a lot harder than in the PSX version (often it just wouldn't work for me). So in case you have this problem with a PC version, I can only suggest trying a few running jumps in the first screens of the game entirely.
