Intern Mouths
 

How do interns eat? Obviously they can't chew anything with their mouth sewn shut and even if the stitches were removed they wouldn't be able to chew because they have no jaws (look at the picture of the intern skeleton at the official Oddworld website).

I think that interns are like flys as far as digestion goes. To eat, they vomit an acid out of their slit to dissolce the food they are going to eat. Once the Paramite Pie (for example) is liquified they drink it with a straw since they can't open their mouth to lap it up.

What do you think?

Maybe Interns are like frogs. They might be able to absorb liquids through the skin. Perhaps all they need to do is take a bath to eat a meal.

I reckon the Vykkers inject food into them becouse the interns work for them and could be part of there pay (if they get pay).

I think I agree with The Khanzumer. Becous whats the point of having a mouth if you can absorb your food?

Vykker Sean's idear is plousible. Vikkers do seem the sort to inject food rather then give their "assistand's" the opurtunity to eat and reduce the amount of time they work.

In this speculation I asume the vikkers didnt alter them physicly (other then sew their mouths shut). For the working intern Vykker Sean's idear seems best and for the free intern (if their are any) The Khanzumer's idear seems best.

But thats just my oppinion.

i herd that the interns lik to listen to rok music and they sing and its annoyin so the vykeers sowed there mouths up, so i guess vykeers need to kinda pay for that so i guess they feed them with injections:fuzconf:

Wow these are some great ideas, I would reckon the Kanzumer is right but I also agree with VykkerSean. I think that naturally the Intern race ate like a fly, but when the Vykkers came along they had some type of surgery and now are injected with some type of Caffine inriched fluid to keep the going...:fuzconf:

Maybe they didn't even naturally take up food via their "mouth", maybe it's just a speaking organ, and they take food up some other way entirely. That'd make it safe for Vykkers to do that. Not that they'd care, but it'd explain why the Interns seem a lot more loyal to vykkers than Mudokons are to those who "employ" them (where Mudokons get their eyes or lips sewn shut - it makes you think what Abe did in the time those shoelaces were tighter!)

Actually Pinkgoth, before I came up with the fly-vomit idea of digestion I thought that maybe Interns are a form of plant and that maybe they get all the energy they need from the sun.

Or maybe they are android type things spawned in Vykkers Labs that don't need to eat.

Or maybe they have mouths at the bottom of their feet.

aren't interns trapped in the labs all day and all night.. so they can't get energy from the sun...

What if they are just slaves like the Mudokons? And if so, how did the Mudokons eat with THEIR mouths sewn shut? (As Alf said once, Abe's were obviously loosened at the time, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to talk :P)
