Sam is at least mentioned in the game!
 

If you go to www.oddworld.au.com and click on games and go to Munch's Oddessy it talkes about the plot to the game and it says Munch has information on Abes lost Mother and Abe has to rescue Munch so he can save her. Which I think at that point will be in Munch's Exodus.
