A poem about Mother Earth
Its a little crappy...sorry...
A sphere of blue and white She alone holds the galaxies gift of life Oceans sparkle, clouds flow Whales sing and birds fly For eons she as survived The changing climates and meteors strikes Living in harmony with all that you can see but now she is in danger from one of her own A being that seeks only power and greed One that poisons her waters and the air Killing their kin so their skins they can wear They have forgotten the value of all life upon her Caring only to increase their number She had cared for them when they were small But they don't seem to care for her at all Things look bleak As she becomes weak But there is hope A few have heard her cries And seek to try to undo the harm that was done to her For the sake of all and future generations Which are you? One of the restorers? Or one of the destroyers? My thoughts: By the time we fix our own problems…it may be too late to save her. Would you leave your Mother to suffer and die while you and your siblings fight among yourselves? We are all one race, one species. We are all equal, despite race, wealth, religion, and gender. When well we all realize this so we can save what is really important? Our Mother Earth and all her children. |
I think this poem is just about significance and the problem of human society. It brings up the greed that drives all of humans, what they do to earth(her)-pollute, and its brings up the overpopulation issue, and the struggle which humans will only realize and try to solve when its too late....The significance is what earth so to say created, was the very thing that killed the earth, and everything that the earth gave humans to use was destroyed... It is a typical nature poem (not in a bad way)
