Xbox price drop and free wares!
 

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox will be reduced in price in Europe from the 26th of April.

What a shame. And I payed £300 for my Xbox. :(

But wait! Microsoft wouldn't be that cruel to all those people who bought their Xboxs before 26th of April, now, would they?

For everyone who bought their 'Box before 26th April get two free games and one free controller! All you need to do is fill out a form and return it for the 1st of July!

I chose Project Gotham Racing and Munch's Oddysee. I'm not waiting for the full list of games available (released on 26th April). It may include JSRF but I should have enough for that soon enough.

JSRF - VERY good choice. I really really want it but I want to get my free wares ASAP

DoA3 - good choice but not what I'd choose. I'm not really into beat-'em-ups

JSRF: IMHO, best XBox game out there besides Munch and Halo.

This is apparently happening here in Australia also.

That means my Xbox works out to be REALLY expensive now!!! Um... about $800 Au (including Munch and the cost of power converter). I'm sure I aren't able to get the bonus stuff!!!

Oh well... "Being able to play Munch's Oddysee 4 months before release in Australia ... priceless!". To be honest, it really doesn't bother me that I paid a lot more.

Although I do know why they are having to do this, with the upcoming release of the GameCube, apparently it is only going to cost about $500Au (on launch) ... and seeing the PS2 has dropped a lot since it came out, Microsoft dropping their price is the only way that they will be able to compete in the console market.

Actually, I heard it the Gamecube will only be $AUD 399! Big news Aussies! My manager told me today that Friday week, Target will be selling Xboxs at $399! That works out cheaper than the Euro and $US prices! No games will be reduced but that's a huge saving!

So, what I really did is get two controllers, two games, and a built in memory disk all for 300 american. Holy jumpin' mother of God in a sidecar with chocolate jimmies and a lobster bib! Your Xboxs cost $300 in the first place, that's about £100 cheaper than the Xboxs in PAL. The Xboxs in NTSC-J cost around £150, go whine at Microsoft-Japan!
