For Surfacing. About the Knot.

NO, I received an e-mail from channel (V) in the latest Heavy Shift newsletter, and it says:

-----------
SPLITKNOT?
-----------
Have Slipknot broke up? The short answer is, NO!

Rumours started flying when the band left No Name Management, the
management company they’ve been with since the band started. Lead singer
Corey Taylor spoke to a radio station in Iowa, USA to clear up the mess,
"We are not breaking up! We had to make some managerial decisions for
whatever reasons, and we are not breaking up. We're looking for new
management and we're gonna record a new album soon so CALM DOWN!"

In other Slipknot news, Corey’s also recorded a solo track for the
upcoming soundtrack to the Spiderman movie. The track is titled ‘Bother’
and here’s what he told Rock Sound Magazine UK about it:

“I've been trying to get on this soundtrack for a year! Anyone who
knows me knows I am the biggest Spiderman freak of all time! I started
putting the word out and said I'd do a song with someone else just to be on
that soundtrack, that's how much it meant to me! I've been waiting
since 1993 for this movie to come out and I had this song called 'Bother',
which is me and an acoustic guitar."

“Last year I was like, '**** it, I'll record it'. If nothing else it'd
be just for me to have on record. So I recorded this song, sent it to
my manager, he heard it and was like, 'Holy shit' and he took it to the
girl who was putting the soundtrack together. She flipped, and so
automatically I'm flying to LA to record this song and it was weird! It was
the first time I've ever been in the studio doing anything by myself
and on a professional level. It came out really good. This is a song I
wrote seven years ago so I'm pretty happy with it!"

And Papa Roach have recorded a tribute song to Slipknot turntablist Sid
Wilson. The track, ‘Singular Indestructible Droid’, will appear on
their new album, 'Lovehatetragedy', out in a few months.

Oh they'll break up, 10 to 15 years from now:D

Disgruntled Intern 04-17-2002 04:13 PM

well surfacing, if you consider how much music has changed in the last ten-fifteen years, I doubt they'll be around that long.
how long have they been around already, 7 years?
and they're just now "really" catching on...anyway...

SeaRex 04-17-2002 06:22 PM

Ah, c'mon. Lay off his band for a while guys. We know you don't like them.

That does'nt matter, look at slayer 20 or more yrs, and they are doing better than ever. Metallica been around for about 19 yrs and there still ****ing good. Who cares if music changes over time bands are still greatly loved by there fans.

Yes, but people don't generally grow out of Slayer and Metallica when they hit puberty (unlike Slipknot)...

Disgruntled Intern 04-18-2002 10:57 PM

oysters!

Damn you Luke! *shakes clenched fist at luke*
because of your comment, I now no longer can remember the cynical remark I was going to make about slipknot...

That statement is so wrong, in so many ways. Slipknot are targeting teenager's, most of slipknot fans are still teens therefore they are still going through puburity. Really why would you say something that stupid? You really know nothing about slipknot.

Why do you find it necessary to respond to each and every post on these forums? Why don't you hang out and get a feel for the place?

morphius 04-19-2002 06:51 PM

Do I detect a slight note of Taking Me Too Seriously here? :D Anyway, you're wrong. Whoever Slipknot are targeting, most of their fans are around 12...

12???????????? Maby were you live, but everyelse like Aus, and the u.s there fans go from 14 up. Stop talking about slipknot fan statistics you have no idea.

Statikk HDM 04-20-2002 01:40 AM

Not to make you angry, surfacing, but Slayer, anthrax and Megadeth have been doing it longer and better. Same with Mushroomhead. I will give it up to the slipknot drummer, he kicks much ass, like Dave Lombardo Nu Metal style.
