Sam the mudokin queen!
I have alweys woundered where is Sam located on Oddworld? the pictures we seen so far look like she is somewhere underground. It also looks like there is a sort of lake surrounding her with mudokins running around her. One more thing doesn't she look like she is a some sort of giant mudokin compaired to the rest of them. She looks enormas. It seems to me that she is also embedded in a rock of sometype. Mann I can't wait to learn more about her. She looks odd indeed!

Sam is kept in Vykkers Labs, under the watchful eye of the sentient sentinal the Shrink. Suicidally depressed and mentally unstable, Sam is the sole producer of Mudokons, but the greedy industrial races of Mudos soon snatch them up, swapping Moolah for Moolah here and there.
Life's not easy when your legacy is captured and put to work scrubbing floors. The only think that could possibly keep you stable is a mechanical psychiatrist. Unfortunately for Sam, that mechanical psychiatrist is worrying about how it can escape from Vykkers Labs and live its own life. And so the two go on living in slavery, hating each other, yet ironically their wishes both are similar and sort each other out. |
"the greedy industrial races" - i wonder if there are other corporations providing competition for the Magog Cartel and the Vykkers' Conglomerate...

I saw some other production pics of Sam posted on the walls of Oddworld along with all of the other stuff that you're not supposed to see. Let's just say that they were quite... "Liberal" when designing her, which is why I guess you can't see her sides in that particular picture.

There is another production picture of Sam, but it's terrible quality and is called 'Maggie.gif'.
It's also at the Exoddus Club, and I'm not prepared to try that again. And yep, the Shrink cannot escape because of both those facts, but I was trying to centre my entry more around Sam. |

They only seem to release the production art after they've included that character/place/thing in a game. I'm guessing that you'll be able to see that art after we've heard about Sam being included in the next game, or until that information is officially released.

I've always heard the Shrinks described as wanting to escape...and I believe that's right. They have AI and could probably find a good pair of pants somewhere..."Shrink's Oddysee?"
And everyone already knows this but I'd like to say it out loud that Sam isn't in Munch's Oddysee...does anybody else think it's a little too "odd" that every race has only a few or one humungous female breeding the entire race? Ah well...can't wait till I get an X-box because this game is the only reason I want one right now. Over the last two years I've managed to live with the fact it won't be on my PS2...(damn you Gates) |
