Two Interesting Questions...
Question #1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three of whom were deaf, two of whom were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis. Would you recommend that she have an abortion? I will reply after 5 votes have been taken and 5 answers have answered this one. |
oooo I saw this one before...so I can't vote honestly. The poll that is.
edit: silly me...um...well that question is a hard one...I can't say either way really. Abortion is one of those topics I in stuck in the middle... edit2: now that I think of it...I have seen the question before too...nope...not falling for it.. |
I can't answer the poll as I don't know anything about the candidate of relevance (well, not much).
After researching the symtoms and transmission of syphilis I would advise an abortion. For reference, I used the following information; http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/std/syphilis.htm |
For the one about electing a world leader, I said C... But I know there must be some catch... It will probably end up being some hated dictator.
As for the one about the abortion... Well, that sounds quite a bit like Beethoven's family... |
I remember both of these now
I remember both of these now and I won't even tell you the first two on the poll are famous presidents and the third one is hitler.

Yes...since its now been SPOILED!! Thanx to Roop!! I will tell you. Candidate A is: Franklin D. Roosevelt Candidate B is: Winston Churchill Candidate C is: Adolph Hitler And if you chose to Abort the baby...you have just killed Beethoven. The moral, think before judging someone and never be afraid to try something new. Also...the saying 'Amateurs built the Ark, and Professionals built the Titanic' < |

2. No I haven't, I advised a course of action which was designed to minimise suffering for all parties. Course of action: Abort the foetus Reason: The is no risk that he will accuire the really nasty-sounding symptoms in later life as he will have no later life. Suffering: Minimal - minor greaving on the part of the family. I didn't kill Beethoven. I killed a foetus that will have developed into Beethoven. Big difference. |
Winston Churchill was an arsehole, anyway...
|
Dude, I don't think you get IT gluk Schmuk. The "mere "fetus" was the one and only beetoven(sp) You'll never get that guy back. A fetus is alive and human. It is a human, although still in the wound. what are you suggesting here, you don't "become" yourself until after you were born. And abortion is a violent business. Sure you can cover it up with euphenisums like "terminate the pregnancy"etc, but it is still killing beetoven if you kill beetoven, dig?

I voted for A. Astrology is a powerful tool. Drinking martinis, chain smoking, and having had two wives does not make somebody a bad person. In contrast, being a highly decoated war hero, not smoking, not being an alcoholic, and not having any extramarital affairs does not make somebody a good person.

Hitler was not really a vegetarian, although he often claimed he was. A close associate of his who was with him throughout a lot of the time revealed in a book about Hitler that he often ate one of his favourite foods: the sausage. Meat sausages.
Besides, there are other facts about him that were not revealed. He had a sexual relationship with his cousin, he made her urinate and defecate on him for sexual pleasure. She later committed suicide. Hitler was a monster in more ways than one. |

I've heard this arguement before: "You can't have a termination because your foetus could grow up and discover a cure for cancer!" That's just a flawed argument because you would have to complain that contraception is also wrong. AND you would have to argue that not having sex is wrong! Consequences of not terminating: If she didn't have a termination there are lots and lots of horibble things that could happen to the foetus when it's born (including skin sores, swolen liver and spleen, anemia and deformities) and there are plenty of complications which will only be known in later life (including damage to the bones, teeth, eyes, ears and brain). If I was a sensible person and I had syphillis and was pregnant, I know what would be the most humane option. Back to the flawed arguement of pro-lifers: The one and only Beethoven would not have ever existed if he was terminated and therefore he would have not become a very famous muscican. What if Beethoven was never conceived? Would you complain if Beethoven's mother was advised to use contraception when she had sex? What if she had decided not to have sex on the time when Beethoven was conceived? Do we become the person we are before we are born? No! Beethoven didn't practice on the piano attached to his placenta and he didn't devlop his whole personality while in there!. Of course you don't become yourself until now! I am a different person now than I was yesterday. The difference is very small but there's still a difference. |
Most people would have voted C and been horrified to discover that they'd voted for Hitler. I voted B and was horrified to discover that I'd voted for Churchill...
|
They all suck! I cant vote for any of them.
Though c. is the lest bad one... How would want a leader who only thought that the only solution is via guns and bombs? (*ahem...not to mention Bush...caugh*) |

Okey, auntie will help you out. :D
He was the thirty-second President of the United States. |
I have also seen documentaries and read that Hitler often consulted with astrologers before making a decision. In fact an astrologer also told him of his impending downfall towards the end, and was in the bunker with him in those last days before his death.
I'm not implying that astrology is bad because of this, but just noting it because only Candidate A has mention of astrology. Abe Babe... |

FDR was considered very good and just about every american liked him. He also was in presidency for 4 terms which is now illegal due to the 22nd amendment. He was around during WW II and succeded by Harry Truman. he died of a massive cerebral hemorrhage.
|
In a hypothetical election, and if I could only judge for the features described, I would vote for the candidate C, even if I knew Hitler had those same features. After all, it doesn't mean that every man with that features would be just like Hitler
