Server problems? Admins, please help.

Sometimes the forums are very very slow, and when browing them, it loads half of a page, and then comes up with this error message where one of the posts is suppost to be:

a href="member2.php?s=&action=aHTTP/1.1 502 Gateway Error Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Fri, 05 Apr 2002 18:22:23 GMT Connection: close Content-Length: 186 Content-Type: text/html

CGI Timeout

The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.

Is anyone else getting this problem? Apparently I'm the only one who is, so far.

Also, on the subject of error messages, I keep seeing this right at the bottom of the forums when veiwing any topic:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\InetPub\oddworld\forums\admin\functions.php on line 2222

Though it just says there's something wrong. I can't really see anything wrong with the forums. Can anyone tell me whats going on?

No, nothing like that, but I have noticed that the pages of these forums do load tremendously slowly, especially images. I thought it might be to do with me switching on DMA, but it's only this place that seems affected.

The forums are pretty graphics intensive, particularly with all the banners.

Although I enjoy seeing people's banners, I turn off displaying people's signatures in order to dispense with the banners and speed the loading a bit.

I haven't gotten any of those error messages, though.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspI too have encountered that problem at one time. But seeing as it caused/had caused no apparent problems, I did not give it a second thought. Now, seeing as others have encountered this, I am going to invesitgate it further on the server side. It might just be as simple as increasing the CGI execution timeouts.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAs for the "Slow Forums," you must understand that these forums are quite graphics intensive. I have run bandwidth tests on the server's internet conenction and there is plenty to go around. Those of you with ultra-fast internet connections must be patient, especially during peak forum usage times. You must also take into consideration that there might be any given number of people browsing the other Oddworld websites I host; in addition to the Oddworld Forums.
