New pics and info
In the the recent issue of Elecronic Gaming Monthly they had some info on Munch's Oddysee, like sobe being in the game and some other stuff like that, it also had some new pictures including one of abe and munch in Vykker labs where you can see some new advertising on the wall (I think one was a chewing tobacco and some other new ones too) and one of those Counters that were in AO and AE you know the ones that tell you how many muds are dead or saved or yet to be saved, but I think this one tells us something different I couldn't really make out what it exactly said! Also there is a pic of a bunch of Tomahawkers all in a line, it looks cool! In a differen't place in the same mag there was a poster type thing on the x-box with a full sized (a whole page) pic of abe's hand holding a can of Munch's Oddysee, I think that this is just the start of OWI advertising for munch!!

 SoBe in Final Game I can understand they have a SoBe feature in the SoBe-Bus-Demo. But it's stupid to put a REALworld thing into a final ODDworld-game. It was perfectly possible for OWI to use an ODDworld-thing instead off a SoBEthing (with the same use). Your supposed to be dragged into another sphere, universe, world. When you see the SoBe thing, you imaginative world will burst and you'll realise it's all fake. NOpe, I don't like it. |
Sobe is totaly unknown in Europe => It's stupid... I don't like so kind advertising... Owi is corupted!!!

It didn't say too much on sobe it only had a little thing off to the side, it showed the same pic every one has seen and said the sobe machine will give you your life back!

hmmm, i wonder if the PAL version will have Lucuzade instead of Sobe...that'd be cool...

I aint going to believe that SoBe is in the game until I see it for myself in the final product or Alf personally confirms it. It's more likely that the magazine has simply harvested some of the screenshots released from the campaign demo and wrote a slippery article based on them.
I've always thought that Oddworld makes a parody of consumerism, with its absurd and exaggerated product names and over-the-top depictions of CEOs, etc. It would be like falling into one's own trap if SoBe appeared in the full version. |
I am with all of you, that would be bad if Sobe was in the final version. I don't think that Oddworld Inhabitants would do that anyway, but if they are planning it, maybe Alf will read what a bad idea we think it is and they will cut it.

maybe when it's re-released they'll do a normal build and a Sobe build...and maybe a Lucazade build!...lol, that'd be cute...
but putting Sobe in the final standard would be stupid... it's probably a little joke like those wired screenshots on their site... anyway, has anyone seen Expresso and Sobe in the same screen shot?...that's probably what they did, switched them...temporarily... |

This pisses me off! Corporate sponsorship in an Oddworld game?? How two-faced! I don't buy videogames to have advertisement shoved in my face. Until this issue is resolved, I don't know if I can stay a fan... :( .
